Lol!! Which Walburg player or board member wrote this? “We could all agree the initial meeting went off the rails” uhh no we can’t agree because we weren’t in the meeting, hmm. Half the crap in this forum you can tell is directly from someone associated with the team, even if they continue to deny it and act like “the team” has said nothing but an apology statement. Constant bullshit and lies coming out of the mouths of every person involved in that corrupt organization. Talk about gas lighting, all they have done since being punted is whine, complain and try to place the blame every other team. Take ownership for your mistakes and letting your community down. Yea you bet, tell yourself it was just the success that got you guys kicked out or maybe every team is done with the same old bullshit over the years. 12 locals?? I hope you mean 15 years ago. I don’t think you can count locals that play less than 30 seconds a game or the ones that sit in the stands watching as the team constantly brings in talent from outside the town. When is the last time St Walburg has had a hometown guy be anything more than a 3rd or 4th liner? For those keeping score at home the answer is never. And the woe is me for the arena and community. If I was on the St Walburg Arena Board I would fully expect the eagles to pay their ice fees for the year. If the team has 25-30K to throw around to two players who probably could give 2 shits about your town then you can support your arena by paying your bills when you got yourselves in this situation! One other note regarding how it would hurt the rink. I did her that guys from the team are continuing to skate, so I'm sure they are paying their ice fees. I'm not sure how their rink is run, is the the kitchen and lounge tendered out or ran by volunteers?? I would assume that senior games would be a big portion of traffic in the winter? I know they have often booked senior games backing a minor hockey tournaments or games. Just something to keep in mind, as I wasn't just referring to ice fees. If it’s ran like most Sr teams the team would be in charge of the bar. Arena would be in charge of the concession. I feel like the first guy is saying that the “rumoured” $700 pay cheque per game both the players were being paid, would more than cover the losses the concession and arena will suffer. Just an observation from an outsider. Hope all the locals have found a place to play for the remainder of the year, be interesting to see what happens next year with walburg

No I have never ever been in there, lol Either way splitting hairs. I'm sure the arena will be ok, and this too shall pass. If all these rinks were able to survive COVID they can make it through this.

Neither actually. Just someone who has been around senior hockey in the area for a long time. What happened with the other leagues St Walburg was in before the SaskAlta. Hasn’t St Walburg only been in the Saskalta for 5 seasons? Did those teams in the other leagues have a hidden agenda against Walburg too? What happened to the river league is a whole different story and could be analyzed a hundred ways to Sunday. Remember phill and their rosters back in the day?

This might be a bit offside, but if there’s a concern about how this will affect the rink, community, etc., could the team play any exhibition games with teams from other leagues? With a promise that all profits would go directly to the rink or minor hockey in the community or something? Are there any rules from Hockey Sask or the league that would disallow this?

Only thing I have heard is that the senior eagles are going to be doing a minor hockey camp in January. I would assume they would be clarifying with Sask Hockey for what they can and can't do.

Walburg didn’t push the rules. They’ve played by the constitution Other teams have pushed the rules trying to beat them, being caught, with no repercussions. Past or present executive from this league, if they wanna hold accountability, they can’t decide on that from year to year and what they chose. That’s where the problem lies and nobody in that league can deny it (if they do…they’re lying…like they all do) Well I guess all of the other teams thought they pushed the rules.. . The import rule in senior AA means non Canadians. But out of your 6 import only one of the imports can be from outside of North America. Senior AA is open no community rules and almost every team pays. Some teams do charge a player registering fee. But that’s just there to make the bottom 6 guys help fund the top 6 guys and playoff pickups. And yeah every Alberta team in that league should be embarrassed and ashamed because they pay there guys elk point might not now but they used too especially on the power house teams before Covid when they were going to provincials and they had guys driving in from Edmonton. And wainwright pays there guys there junior b pays players as well. You think a kid from southern Alberta that played AAS and is a shoe in for the ajhl just willingly goes to wainwright for free to play junior b

We all know the Eagles are the only ones to ever pay anyone in the SaskAlta and possibly he entire province.

The league pres even admitted P Hill and Lash are paying too 😂 Same old story with St.Walburg, still just trying to deflect the blame to anyone else and can’t accept that they were breaking the rules and got caught. “It was Hillmond! It was the league President! It was Lashburn! It was Paradise Hill!” “Lashburn Wainwright Elk Point P Hill, they’re all paying too!” Anything but take responsibility of their own actions and faults, time to own up now and start over next year.

Since there's no rules in the constitution how to administer discipline, It's up to the teams having a meeting, one team makes a motion based on the mood at the time, and it gets voted on.

How dare you even mention anything to do with money along with Lashburn, Wainwright, PHill. We all know that only them slimy s from Walburg are the only ones to have the gull to ruin everything. Hockey is for Everyone!

Walburg lies about everything, and never takes accountability. This one time, I was there, and I swear I seen a player carrying an envelope out of the rink. Everyone knows it's against the rules to have envelopes anywhere near an arena! I even went and asked them about it and they denied knowing what an envelope was!!! Thank god someone is the patron saints of hockey are finally holding them accountable.

Lmao and you think Lenny young used play for Hillmond for free? Lmao he’s a 1000 $ a room guy for rec tournaments. And he personally told me he’d get 400 a game lol yes I named dropped lol
