Lot of chatter about to many imports and to much money being thrown around. There are some teams who chase local players to play for their local team but those said players would rather chase a paycheck…. 🤮🤮🤮 Who are some of the local players in or out of the league that grew up in or around the town that left to play elsewhere?? I can think of a couple. All of the White City boys would have grown up playing in balgonie rink. Holtby , Trapp, Milligan. Bentz woulda grew up around Raymore/ Southey and isn’t there. Sad isn’t it. That’s why Lumsden is so strong because true true locals like Reid and beaudry stay and play for the town. Even Raymore is better with the linnens and those Raymore kids. I don’t even know if Balc has 1 kid that grew up in that rink. That’s why I can support those teams, they are allowing the true locals to have a chance to grow the community. Guys who care about the next generation and those teams locals and imports are all in the same page in caring about the community… now other teams that’s a different story! |

It’s one thing to take players to start up or because players are treated like shit… taking the man who started Bethune up again, the heart and soul, the captain… this is evil. Lets not pretend this wasn't Russ' decision. Its not like he was forced to leave there. If he felt like things were going well in Bethune he would have not have left. |

I can tell you for a fact every executive meeting we have in Raymore our number one discussion is about “how does this affect our locals”.
We are nothing without them. And we aren’t doing this to ice a team of 20 imports with no ties to the community.
And the fans have responded in kind.
It's a fine balance for sure, between fielding an absolute powerhouse or a damn good team with a bunch of strong locals.

Prediction: with Canora not having a game until the 22’d of November, Michowski will stay with the Broncs for at least a coup,e weeks to make some cash, and then jump to Canora again for the ?? 3rd ?? Time in 6 weeks?? It’s just smart business and should be celebrated
