This is indeed the third straight year. Another Rivalry building for redvers. Redvers swept moosomin in the semis two years ago, swept them in the finals last year. The question is will they sweep them again this year? Moosomin brought in thousands of dollars worth of players in particular to try beat redvers at this time of year. Let’s see if it pays off or if it was all a giant waste of money just like the Carlyle Sissy Kitties. yes your right 3 straight years meeting in the playoffs, i meant 2 years in the finals. should be some good hockey to watch regardless of the outcome.

All teams have strengths and weaknesses.
There is no doubt that Redvers has the strongest team and ranked #1 in league and near top on Hockey Nooner. The analytics don’t lie, Redvers is the best and has the deepest roster in league.
All teams go through cycles of compete level just like NHL. All teams will be bucking up with Sask Hockey Prov divisions and recruiting is already starting.
Hard to believe SR hockey drawing more fans than SJHL and MJHL.

Wouldn’t count Redvers out yet. Moosomin celebrated like they just won league. The games have been close and very good games to watch. Although I would not say Rangers have won yet, game 3 will be very interesting.

Kudos to both goalies as both had good games.

If your team scored to win in OT, you’d prob celebrate too. Every team I’ve ever seen would. It was a heck of a game, prob 600 or more fans, 50/50 was about 2000.00, and the reffing did a bang up job both ways
. Will Moos sweep the series? , my prediction is redvers wins next one at home, but rangers win in 4.

Another great game last night between two evenly matched teams. Beckett vs. Matthewson in net. Injured players returned to their lineups. Rocket Bradey Fidierchuk played regular shifts on the third line. Dustin Lamontagne played sparingly in the third. Devin McGonigal had one shift in the second, broke his stick in half cross checking a Rocket player, and was never heard from again. It was 0-0 after one. Early in the second, Smallchild opened the scoring on a lovely wrister to the top shelf after great assists from Poirier and Hoff. A couple of minutes later, Moosomin went on the power play and with big Josh Elmes in the front of the next, he tapped in a Bud Holloway shot from the point, and it was 1-1. Less than a minute later, Kenton Miller scored the prettiest on of the night after a lovely two on one with lineman Preston Kopeck. Score remained 2-1 after two. 5 minutes into the third, with the face-off deep in their zone, the Rangers took the puck from coast to coast scoring a hard-fought goal from their third liners, Monty Driver, from Springer and Jaxon Elmes. 2 to 2. With five to go, Ryker Cole was charged with boarding, and Preston Kopeck scored a hard fought goal on the ensuing power play. Alas, Blair Toms was charged with high-sticking with 3 to go. With 2 and a half to go, Bud Holloway blasted a slapper from the right point and Matthewson didn't have a hope. 3-3 and going to overtime. Thirty seconds into O/T, big Josh Elmes took the puck at centre ice, got into overdrive, and cruised down the left side. He went right around the net and passed it Drew Schiller, his pinching defence partner, who scored a soft one through the wickets. Final score 4-3 Rangers. Game stars for the Rangers were big Josh Elmes and goaltender Kyler Beckett, who puck handled at will behind and in front of his net, never to get caught with some very dicey plays. Oliver Poirier had a great game for the Rockets, as did Kopeck. This Thursday night crowd was estimated at 800 with the $2,100 pot of gold won by a Rocket fan. The stream of cars heading south to Redvers was over a mile long after the game. "Bad Bad Boy, Go the Penalty Box" was the song of the game. It was a great way to spend 10 bucks. Game three is in Redvers Monday night. Get there early, it should be packed! Senior hockey is alive and well in the Big Six. Moosomin has now won six in a row, three of their last four in overtime. But, don't count the defending champs out, just yet. If anyone can come back from a 2-0 best of five deficit, it's the Redvers Rockets.

Some redvers fans may have though the reffing stole the game, but the real crime is the $7 beers in the moose lounge lol. Cheaper beer at a Jets game.

Cheaper beer at a Jets game. the refs did a good job for both teams, and if you don't want to pay the 7.00, don't by looking into their lounge, it didn't look the 100 or more in there had a problem with it lol

Curious in your unbiased opinion about the call on Toms with 3 minutes left, seemed like a phantom make up call for the boarding call on Cole earlier where Rockets took the lead. Redvers hasn’t played their best hockey and been in both games. I think we see a 5-3 win for Rockets on Monday night
