This will be the third straight year that these teams meat in the Big 6 Playoffs.
Two straight sweeps by Redvers.
What's everyone's predictions?
Can Moosomin find a way to win at least one game?
Will Redvers be effected at all by still being in Provincial Playoffs?

This is indeed the third straight year. Another Rivalry building for redvers. Redvers swept moosomin in the semis two years ago, swept them in the finals last year. The question is will they sweep them again this year? Moosomin brought in thousands of dollars worth of players in particular to try beat redvers at this time of year. Let’s see if it pays off or if it was all a giant waste of money just like the Carlyle Sissy Kitties.

Should be a heck of a series and I know both of these teams very well. Both Redvers and Moosomin have played two playoff rounds, and have identical 6 and 1 records. Redvers has home ice advantage.
Goaltenders - Redvers - Matthewson and Bauche. Moosomin - Beckett and Horn. - No big advantage here. Beckett is the best puck handler and arguably the best goaltender. Rebound control with all four is strong. Any one of them can steal you a game in this series.
Defence - Redvers - led by Gaudet and Smallchild, Notables Koltyn Miller, Poirier, and Toms. Moosomin - Josh Elmes and a bunch of others. Jevon Schwean has not dressed in these playoffs due to injury. Big advantage here for the Rockets. Elmes may be the league's Norris trophy winner, but the Redvers defensive corps have been around a long time and are very good and very stingy. Gaudet and Smallchild "walk the line" on the power play better than anyone. Overwhelming edge to Redvers.
Forwards - Redvers, the trio of Miller, Miller and Kopeck is unstoppable and after 7 games has amassed a whopping 63 points. Production after that drops off like a stone with the second line of Poirier, Magotiaux and Hoff scoring a paltry 8 points in the playoffs.
Moosomin now has two solid forward lines including their own MVPs of Bud Holloway and Brock Trotter. Sawchuk is a star and Ryker Cole is having a great playoff run as is Nabholz. Lamontagne has only played in two games and McGonigal in one. I am leaning towards Moosomin as having a better edge up front.
Conclusion: Redvers smoked Moosomin in last year's final as the Rangers were not deep and suffered playoff injuries to several players including Bud with a lacerated finger. Moosomin has added some great imports and might be a bit younger with revenge from last year's humiliation on their minds. Is Bud Holloway's back OK? Does Bradey Fiederchuk return from having his shoulder dislocated? Does Foam Lake tire out the Redvers older players with Moosomin already eliminated from Provincials? Is the reffing loose or tight? Who is the unsung hero?
I have to pick a winner and I am going to go with Moosomin in five with game five in Redvers before a jampacked house. And don't stay home to watch a streaming version. You can't help a senior team with their finances by way of free streaming and you can't win a massive pot of gold without buying a ticket. This series has the potential of being a classic and should start early next week. Can't wait!

Redvers has been favoured to win the league the last 3 season and has 1 championship todate. If the import rule is 4 for the Big 6 league let’s not kid ourselves Redvers has likely 10-14 junior hockey players on their hockey team regarding local talent.
Rockets have strongest ranked defence in league along with depth upfront on 4 lines. Redvers favoured to win absolutely but favorites is not a guarantee especially with this scrappy Rangers club.
Don’t count the Moosomin underdogs out as the Rangers when playing their game at top level can play with anyone.
The black ace Beckett can single handly win a series in the pipes so never know….as who would have thought Boston Bruins out first round last year at pro level.
I hear both teams are banged up but Schwean and Holloways should add some Ranger power to this series. Fedorak is day to day I hear with injury healing.
The team with the best special teams may win series.
Both team spend lots of money on hockey operations and even more for provincials.
Both rinks will be jam packed as both communities have best fans in league.
Rockets take on Foam Lake for provincials and this will be a south zone challenge every shift.
Carnduff vs Kyle another good series projected this weekend.

Looking forward to league final series. Battle of the top two lines in the league… I think it’s gonna come down to who can shut down who, and I would take the rockets on that note.
I think redvers is much more likely to shut down the big boys in moosomin then they are to shut down that top line. They have been playing great hockey and the speed on that line along with redvers’s strong d-core will win them the series.
I think it will go the distance, expect to see a couple OT games. I do think Moosomin will make this a hell of a series and have respect for both teams, but redvers will come out on top for a second straight year.
Truly would say the strongest two teams this season will be playing off again. This league has nowhere to go but up, awesome to see the competitiveness in the league this year. Would say this is getting to be one of the strongest leagues in the province, and the support in the communities this year was outstanding.
Senior hockey is back and here to stay!! Buckle up big 6 fans, it’s only going to get better!!

I would guess it has something to do with Redvers being in a provincial series as well. Would probably prefer weekend games as you will get a bigger gate. |

Likely everybody would like a couple days notice moron. It’s just the league catering to Redvers again. Making sure nothing interferes with them or Rocanville schedule for provincials
