Agreed. Pretty disgusting the point where senior hockey has gotten to in last few years. Some guys clearing 20-25k of cold hard cash a winter. The $$$ dished out used to be to cover guys costs to, some gas money, case of beer for the way home, a stick or two. Now it’s more profitable than playing east coast for crying out loud. Sad to see. No one is making 20-25k a season. If they say they are, it’s a lie. Guys are definitely making $500 a night modestly. If a team can make a run in league and provincials. Can play anywhere from 25-35 games. I could see 20-25 being a bit of a stretch but not much. Interesting how teams afford to do it year after year with multiple big names per season. Makes you wonder what the biggest payroll in Sask Sr Hockey is. |

Now in order to make that happen they need to go right to league and prov. finals but its doable... especially when teams are starting to hand out signing bonus's as well... an extra 2K at the beginning of the year, or a 1-2K bonus for winning league/provs is something that is happening more often. Supposedly Shynkaruk is making 800 a game in Leroy, between league and provs has played 22 games so far. If they go onto the league final thats a min of 26 games = 20,800. |

It’s never going to change. Paying money is only going to get worse. And there is no use in complaining. I would know, because I’ve been whining about it for years. So you may as well sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
The only people that like the direction senior hockey is going is ex pro on junior players with no ties no a specific small town. Money money money💰💸💵
