When there’s 8 team draws and your considered a provincial champion for being the best out of 8 doesn’t seem nearly as impressive as when we used to have 32 team draws with 20-32 teams in each category and you were the best out of 20+ teams. I think trim the divisions down to 2 or 3 if we’re only seeing less than 40 teams enter is the way to go. So less provincial finals will help grow provincials? SMH, 30 years ago when there was 40 teams in a division 30 of them were dog shit. Or would lose so bad they wouldn't show up for game 2.

I think they would have almost more luck getting more team to enter provincials by submitting rosters to sha. On that roster you put the highest level of hockey that players had played. You’d compare rosters to match up with other teams around the province putting the elites against the elites and the good against the good. And so on.

More teams won’t make it better. There are really only about 20 teams that have a legit shot at winning a tittle so adding another 40 teams that are weaker yet won’t make it any better

It’s about getting more teams to enter to make it relevant. The way were going there’s going to be 4-6 teams in each division in the next few years. At that point who gives a crap about provincials?

Just a thought. If they lowered the population would more teams enter. Alot of teams probably don't enter because they're going up against teams like kenaston or teams that can pull from 3 or 4 other teams in the 120km radius and make a super team.

They did the opposite to promote entries. The population maxes used to be lower. Are you suggesting if there was an E (for example) Division with a population of 500 that there would be more entries?

No. No e division. Let's say set the d division 1500 instead of 3500. Than maybe 2 teams join together instead of 4. Back in the day you had to go through 4 or 5 rounds to get to the final. Now the D south is 2 and your in the final.

Back in the day you had to go through 4 or 5 rounds to get to the final. When was this a thing? Going thru 4 rounds to get to the final would make for a 32 team bracket. Going thru 5 rounds to get to the final would make for a 64 team bracket. There are only 110 teams in the province.

A lot of players wouldn't want to commit that much time to senior. They still have families, jobs, and lives to live.

I assume that 28 games includes the playoffs. I think there's way to much concern over the amount of teams playing provincials or the amount of rounds played to win it, and why does it matter to everyone. Are you aware how taxing it is on the Players that are playing both league playoffs and provincials at the same time? Best of 5 league game plus best of 3 provincials. It could take as much as 15 to 20 games to be played in a month. When is it ever enough. Do you think senior hockey players are wishing they could play even more hockey come March and spend even more time on the road and away from their family? And do you think many teams are wishing they could spend even more money to win provincials?
