This is all fine in theory but the Twin River's Elite rule states that a player who plays 31 games of junior A or better is considered Elite. Several teams in the Wheatland would need to drop a good portion of their roster to enter this new league. Have any of you watched TRHL games? It's similar to watching paint dry.... Based on that and a quick perusal of Wadena's roster would indicate the following players are considered elite: Statchuk Hobbins Leach S Scheschuk C Scheschuk D Hope B Hope B Melrose Walker Kozun Purves McDermott S Odelein
So I'd imagine that would be a non starter in discussions with Wadena.
I get the sense wadena wouldn't be included in the discussion

From what I've heard the only thing the new league would adopt is 4 elite players per team and no population restrictions. Wadena had +114 goal differential that’s not exactly what I’d call Exciting hockey

I love how everyone rips the twin rivers for not being as good as other leagues, but at the end of the day they have 10 teams with plenty of locals on the roster in towns that may not other wise have senior teams, in my mind that’s what matters. and by the sounds of it if the wheatland Is In trouble (which I’m not sure if they actually are or these are just rumours) would they not be better off to adopt something similar instead of having a league with 3 teams? Or no league at all? Seems like a no brainer to me. ⬆️⬆️⬆️ This is exactly what folks are saying they want. Sustainable teams where locals who want to play can. There will be leagues with big pay rolls. If guys want money they can find it.

New league for the North east would be a great idea, also I do like the 4 elite player rule. Hopefully it works out. Wonder if Wadena would try the llhl for one year to see how it goes and if it goes to crap maybe join the new league the year after ?

Stats check shows only 2 games all season with less than 10. Craik, PP & Hanley all played games with small benches too....they all pulling the pin? Based on your new word "surprise" would it be a surprise if they have teams next year too? Move back to the front of the bus...would give you a better perspective so your not "surprised" all the time. well since it happened three times since January, and twice in February when the games matter most, maybe you should check your own stats. I’m well aware of all teams and their perceived or real issues. Fact of the matter is Naicam is in trouble whether you care to admit or not. Your being the be all of all knowledge in the Wheatland and of all teams perceived issues surely know where the league website is. According to the box scores it was still only 2 games all year. As mentioned on another post, the team is almost all local, so with shift work and camp jobs rosters can fluctuate. They obviously chose not to reschedule - but with your inside intel on all teams you already knew that. Just shows some of what you post has no factual basis - so no point in trying to bring realities into the discussion when spreading rumors is more fun. Raises your profile like a slap at the Grammy's.

Player attendance aside, I think Naicams more pressing issue is having a coach that had more suspensions than any player in the league. Makes a guy wonder if you didn’t have that type of bench boss maybe you’d get more guys to show up? Either way, no need for that type of stuff

After the first two games of 2022 you struggled to get anymore than 12 skaters. Not a recipe for success. Maybe you should but more effort into recruitment rather than your excuses. And for a second time take a seat.

“Surprised” might have learned to count at the same place as the Wadena shot clock guy

I think surprised he makes a point...you initially said 1/2 the season, and now its only 3 games. I didn't check the Wheatland site but surely they played more than a 6 game season? Other wise the Wagons goal differential is crazy good. LOL

Other wise the Wagons goal differential is crazy good. LOL my apologies…. Will second half of the season suffice, as it’s generally agreed that January is the start of the second half. Fact of the matter this all stems from one word “Surprised”. There was no reason to go off of the deep end. I’m not sure why but this sure struck a chord, hmmmm. . You don’t see Wadena on here talking about their imports staying when it’s implied they will move on…because only they know what’s going on. No complaints about bad intel, starting rumours etc. I

Wadena doesn’t necessarily need to add an import goalie for the long lake, But like I said, I was told they were suppose to be better next year. Wasn’t given names tho. Time will tell if they want a challenge next season
