Heard there were two match penalties handed out yesterday too? ...after the game ended?

Wasn't at the game, is the two match penalties report accurate? Was there a possible incident outside of the dressing rooms?

Another one of those times when it would be nice if Hockey Sask posted game sheets/box scores

There was some shenanigans off a faceoff with 10 seconds left. A couple frustrated meadow lake players tried to start fights. I know one of the drake players broke his stick over one of the Meadow lake players back with a crosscheck. I assume this is one of the match penalties.

Some idiot tried to fight DJ King off the draw. King put him in a chokehold. Another Drake Player broke a stick cross checking Todd Fiddler from behind. Wasn’t much of anything. The Drake cross check could have been match worthy.

Was at the game, there was no Meadow Lake players trying to start fights at the end of the game. Could hear King through the arena saying to run the clock. They decided to drop the puck and number 90 didn’t get one shift all game was out there to try and be a hero. As for putting people out there to start rough stuff that’s false if you looked up the PIMs on that line 19, 24, 17 those were the least penalized players on their team. 90 is just lucky that King just rag dolled him to the ice because if he would’ve actually wanted to fight him I can assume he would be in Saskatoon for facial reconstruction surgery. (King hasn’t had a fight since coming back into senior hockey in 2012). The crosscheck was completely uncalled for square in the back breaking his stick over his back. There are multiple videos on Facebook.
As for the game itself. Really a shame that they didn’t let the two teams just battle it out in a winner take all series. Both great hockey teams loaded with talent. Meadow battled back from 4-1 to 4-3 and tried to make it a game. The reffing was an absolute joke. A lot of people posted the mismatched penalties. Drake is a hell of a hockey team, and just really wish they would’ve let the two teams battle to the buzzer and let the chips lay where they lay. Great series by two great hockey teams. I’m sure the broncos will be marking the dates on the calendar for 2023.

Thanks. That cross check sounded wicked. Luckily, in the moment anyway, it didn’t seem to effect him much.

I gotta say I am surprised how much hounding on the refs there has been. The high stick should have been called against Drake for sure. Other than that, Meadow Lake is who could have had more calls against them if the refs were calling a tighter game. To me, discipline cost Meadow Lake. It was a 4-3 game late in the 3rd when Fiddler took an unsportsmanlike for hammering the puck into the net way after the whistle. Drake scored on that PP to go up 2 with a few minutes left.

After 7 powerplays one way I'd think the refs would at least try to make an even-up call. (Edit) I should say "after 6" that unsportsmanlike call was the 7th.
