Agreed. Brackets should have been:
Meadow Lake vs. winner (Drake/Warman) Milestone vs. Biggar
Southey vs. Balcarres Lanigan vs. Lumsden

Brackets are fine. Drake is south of 16 so everyone knew they were going to be put in the south bracket. You can’t please everyone.

Can’t please everyone nope, just thought it was an easy prediction to have Drake vs Balcarres/Milestone in the south final is all I meant.

They do look at travel required when setting them up.

They must not have considered Davidson. Lol. Redvers first round, then Carnduff. Oooooof

Mclintock and hockey Sask decide to use the nooner guys to announce the draws… maybe take a little stock in what they say next year. Whether you agree or not at the time the draws were being made I believe there was 3 teams that entered A in the nooner top 10. Naturally the smart thing to do apparently is to put all 3 in the same corner of the bracket. Drake won’t have a close game again. I obviously don't know what they were thinking, but I think it was a pretty good idea financially. The crowds get bigger and bigger as provincials go on but good matchups also bring in big crowds. In the south Your making the favorite teams play the most games. The early rounds were the best matchups so the crowds were probably a bit bigger than if drake plays southey first round. Now your in the a South final and the crowds are going to big no matter whose in it. In the north, meadow always has big crowds no matter what. Matching warman against meadow also has alot of indigenous players against each other which had alot of interest. Biggar/lanigan was boring but with a potential to have a drake vs lanigan final, there would have been packed barns through out the finals. Maybe not the best draw for the quality of hockey but probably the best draw for trying to have these teams make as much money as possible.
