Best leagues because of relaxed import rules**, In reality they're both quite unhealthy right now with teams dropping like flies over the past few years and more following closely behind. Long Lake had to resort to a joint schedule with the FCHL which no longer exists and the "super league" is 2 leagues combined for a whopping 7 teams. Give me the SWHL and SVHL all day. You're not wrong. Those leagues are always consistent with the same teams. Leagues like the Q have their ups and downs year after year. Eventually money gets tight and teams struggle. Then in a few years the money starts flowing again and a team comes back. Its just not sustainable. Some people prefer a more local feel to senior hockey and some prefer the best product on the ice. That’s not entirely true. The SWHL has lost Eatonia, Luseland and Dodsland in recent years. They were just lucky to pick up Hafford and Edam. And there have been a few teams rotating in and out of the SVHL but they are lucky they have a large group of teams.

Yeah it will likely only happen if the Long Lake loses a couple more teams. But then they likely combine into other leagues that are closer anyway. While the import rules are different the only measuring stick we will have is provincials. The only other thing even remotely close was the Early November pre-season tournament Watrous used to put on. You would think players would just coast but that wasn’t the case. But what’s that been? 20 years? Maybe someone should host one, problem is getting enough elite teams willing to commit. The long lake league interlocked with Fort Carlton league 4 or 5 years ago. They played 1 game against each team in opposite leagues then a home and away vs teams in their natural league. Both leagues had different import rules. They could make it happen if they wanted to, but it likely won’t happen. Instead everyone will keep bickering back and forth on here saying which league is the Super League. I believe both sides of the league QVH and HHL have dif import rules this year. HHL teams have 3 imports - and QVHL is allowed 6. Hopefully next year they are the same.

Arguing over which league is the best is pretty tiring boys...pointless. Leagues with close access to Stoon and Regina players will always be the strongest. The rest will have ups and downs. The only thing that matters is keeping as many senior teams playing to keep rinks and small communities thriving.

Can’t see Southey having much of a chance tonight vs. Drake. If it was their provincial team from a few years ago with all the pick ups they had back then they would have a better chance.

Mclintock and hockey Sask decide to use the nooner guys to announce the draws… maybe take a little stock in what they say next year. Whether you agree or not at the time the draws were being made I believe there was 3 teams that entered A in the nooner top 10. Naturally the smart thing to do apparently is to put all 3 in the same corner of the bracket. Drake won’t have a close game again.

Ya agreed. SHA can make up the draws however they see fit. They really didn’t do a great job of it this year.

Drake coasted for the last 15 minutes. After watching Drake's first two rounds I was looking forward to another exciting game. Southey is not even close to milestone or balcares. I can't imagine having a game 3 in this series.
