So anyone who doesn’t wanna shell out big bucks is a rec plus team or league. That’s issue with these big playing teams and some of these guys is the ego side of it. Lots teams and leagues still very local based and get more then just a few people coming into you concession. People like you am your opinions are the bad side of senior hockey Oh-kay get some fundraising and sponsorships going. It’s 2024 not 1999 guys can’t afford to just play for the fun of it. With the risks of getting hurt these are whimps these days not men like it used to be. If teams can’t keep up with the money then that’s to bad. ya that makes sense. lol some of these players are teachers, and other professions that need to be able to work. These are not people that sit on thier buts all day doing nothing.

Yes that true I don’t have a issue with that personally or teams paying guys but don’t call the teams or guys that are doing it on thier own dime and maybe aren’t the stars a Rec plus league. We’re all senior hockey just some leagues are at different ends of the extreme.

Monday nooner just reported Grenfel dropped out this season so maybe they should fundraised lol Biggest question I have with this is where is Logan Foster going to end up? Rumours he was back in Grenfel but that’s a pretty solid piece looking for a place to play a week before the season starts.

Who the hell wants play for free and get chased around by nimrods with one objective and that’s to take someone’s lights out. Because we have all seen it happen and guys aren’t driving for hours on weekends to strictly fill their gas tank. It’s 2024. Pay to play , these guys aren’t going any where that they are gonna sacrifice their families and careers. Wake tf up u old timers.

Southey and Bethune are going to the new league next season This is true but I’ll add Balgonie and Milestone as well. Likely Grenfell if they can get a squad back together. The only other thing I’d add is it’s not necessarily the new Prairie League. These teams want to resurrect the old QVHL or HHL and the Soo teams (Avonlea & Rouleau), lower the imports. Constrict the towns you can use. The president is involved as well. Rumours he resigned because he knows the QVHHL is likely done and is going to start up this new league. We will see but sounds like Lumsden, Raymore and Balcarres will be on their own. Likely pushing towards joining or creating a new league with some of the LLHL teams.

But what Raymore and Lumsden are doing can not be defended. Raymore is going to be over 4K a game and they’re trying to add Calder Brooks at 1000$ per game on top of that. Stupidity. Lumsden “moving” their Provincial pick-ups into town for league play is ridiculous. 300-500$ a game for 6-8 guys just doesn’t make any sense. Allowing your new goalie to go and spend over 8K for new gear. Is this a pro team? No wonder this is the last year for the QVHHL.

Don’t act like Balcarres ain’t paying out of their ass as well. To fill a truck up is 150-200. New sticks are $400. Skates are 1000. Guys need to make it worthwhile and 100 -200 bucks a game ain’t it. Especially when they are putting in community time and producing.

Why would I want to spend my hard earned money as a sponsor paying a guy to play a senior game when he already makes 6 figures at his day job in some cases. Problem is nobody will play for hometown pride anymore, which I guess makes sense as these small towns are no longer producing any talent from the grassroots level, or parents are driving their kids to the nearest AAA novice team in a city and these kids never get the opportunity to suit up for their hometown. All because they think their kid is the next Jon Cheechoo and are too good for their hometown house team.

You don’t need to come on here and advocate for your clients. You’re as bad as the Monday Nooner pigeons. Just celebrating guys getting as much money as they can and laughing about it. No one has folded more teams and leagues than the MN boys. Idiots. Stop celebrating the money and imports and get back to letting the locals play.
