At the game in Macklin Redvers goalie played solid enough to win the game. special teams hindered Redvers, terrible Pk. Terrible PP. They also had this big useless guy playing constantly even though he did score a goal he was too slow to get down the ice with his wingers. Redvers had a guy who came out flying and landed a few big hits, but he was the only one hitting so when he was not on the ice it was Macklin out matching Redvers physically. Baier and Waltz played phenomenal on the back end defensively and creating offense and let's not forget how stellar of a game Martin Had in net! I think Redvers was missing a few guys they had picked up so maybe that takes that big slow guy out of the line up and adds some talent but as far as I can see this is the Mohawks Year! Should be a good game 3. Thought this post aged well. Last night in OT baier and Walz looked hilarious both sprawled out on the ice for the game winner after a walz tunrover. Baier with the OT winner in game 1 and the GWG in Game 3!! “He’s so bad” hahahahahahah LFG MOHAWKS

Macklin has a helluva team and worked their bag off. How does that team go .500 in the regular season???
Rocanville boys just played a 3 in 3 with winning a league title on Friday night. Prob a bit gassed lol. Some close games that could have went either way
Anyways congrats to Macklin on the Provincial title!

Every game this season was a comeback win. Both teams were struggling to protect a lead which makes sense given the stakes.

I came back to this. Impossible now Wins a win baby 1/3 is a fail. OP said 4-3 Macklin in overtime. Score was 6-4 = Fail Was no overtime = Fail Macklin wins = Correct.

Final game recap of the year. Congratulations to the Macklin Mohawks, Provincial D Championship winners. This game had a lot of peaks and valleys to it. First off, just after O' Canada and before puck drop, Mohawk net minder Trevor Martin was instructed to leave the ice. He came back minutes later wearing a different goalie mask. Macklin came out flying in the first but Rocanville pickup Ryan Regel opened the scoring on a nice 3 on 2 with assists from Kopeck and Howie. Seconds later, Houcher tied it up at 1 on a sloppy goal only to have Drew Hoff score seconds later. 3 goals in less than a minute. It was 2-1 Redvers after one. Jordon Miller made it 3-1 early in the second with Macklin again responding later in the period making it 3-2 after two. The third period saw lots of action and when Rocket Kenton Miller scored two minutes in, the 4-2 lead appeared to be safe. Macklin had nothing of that tonight, however. With 13 to play, Carson Pickett made it a one goal game. With 11 to go, Redvers top D-man, Brady Gaudet, got charged for a hit to the head but in addition to the 2 minute minor, also received a 10 minute misconduct. He sat in the penalty box for the rest of the game. On the ensuring power play, Spencer Bast knotted it up with 10 to play. And then, with less than six to play, Tyler Baier scored the game winner, also on the power play. The Mohawks held on and scored an empty netter making it a 6-4 final. Macklin did not quit and frankly played a lot better than they did Saturday night. They were stronger on the puck and had a good forecheck. Redvers took 7 minors, Macklin 6. Both goaltenders did not have stellar games and both teams clanged several off of cross bars and goal posts. Losing your top D-man for the last 11 minutes of a tight game was a crucial factor in this contest. But, full kudos to Macklin in storming back from both 3-1 and 4-2 goal deficits. They never quit and were ultimately rewarded. Another crowd of 800 on a Sunday Easter afternoon. The $3,500. pot of gold was won by a Carlyle Cougars fan. I am sure the Macklin bus is rocketing home to some very good tunes tonight.

He’s a top DMan in the SWHL & will be for future years. Congrats fellas!

Wow I thought the rockets won the d banner two rounds ago, the irony of counting chickens before they hatch and laying an egg in your home barn on Easter weekend

I think you will see coaching changes along with management. The Millers were best on the ice all night for their team and Rocanville boys were best on the ice period.
Macklin just does not tire and it showed.
I think it’s Miller time as the D division has been up for the taking. Get Rodney coaching. Why not? He has coached the highest kids at Redvers and Carlyle.

Macklin had a handful of their own big players and it showed this series. Defense wins championships!
