Maybe Parker Thomas could go be a - minus player over there, let’s face it McVeigh will bail him out, love the huskie connections

Maybe Kenaston lives rent-free in your head, but try to stay on point. Anyways, no. LLHL should 100% not bend the rules for one team and not the others.

Why just Wynyard? Just let every team in the long lake have unlimited imports, I would say impose a salary cap but everyone would just go over it anyways. Who knows maybe even let teams make trades!

It could become an exciting league for sure. We could eliminate the import rule, unlimited imports for everyone. I don’t think there should be a salary cap, let people make some serious cash. There won’t be any performance or illegal drug testing. We want these men being complete robots, in great shape and ready to entertain.
At the Huskie Dogs Luncheon, each team could come and participate in the Free Agency Lottery Draft. Recruit the newest and freshest up and coming CIS Players.
We can organize online betting, produce more money in the league.
Each community is going to need to have farm land, or major investors to compete.
Any other ideas?!
We will become the greatest league in the province.

Amount of money being spent in this league is disgusting, Sask Senior hockey in general. It’s supposed to be glorified beer leagues not a full time job. Yeah the quality of hockey is great. But what happened to playing for the fun, the beers, and the memories? Gas money and sticks to cover costs has turned into equivalent of full time wages. Some guys make more playing senior hockey than they do working during the week. Gross

The amount of money being paid is disgusting? Does the amount of money being paid affect your life in any way? Likely not, and no one is forcing teams to pay. What’s wrong with people that have devoted a lot of years to develop the skills they have to make money off said skills.

It’s fine if you have skills, but when you’re making money to play, you better show up each game and be good, steal Games, win games. The last few years of imports have been soft and entitled. Players like Beauker Twordick McCallum Dyck Reekie when they were in their prime were worth the money. They won provincial titles and league championships. Most of the imports in the league today are soft and play only for the money or clout of it. Who in the league is actually playing and acting worthy of $300+ a game?

Like I said no one has a gun to the teams heads to pay these guys. If you’re overpaying a player that has no interest in playing for that logo then that is on you. And for the players that do theiir best and are worth the money good for them. There is a fat chance if I coulld make money playing senior ( and I could not )that I would be doing it for free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays just for the sake of a 4 hour round trip plus a game. Maybe that’s just me

Short for professional. Professional, a job, a profession. Senior hockey is not supposed to be a profession.

That’s a good point. You should stop paying all the players wherever you’re located and you will surely end up with the beer league rec team you seem to desire to watch. And if you’re real lucky the local team will fold all together

Nothing like being a local who played decent hockey. Working a 10 hr day just to show up at the rink for 6 shifts of Hockey while watching a guy who just got done his full ride scholarship come home to play with family and friends for $500 a game and still lose every game that matters. Maybe rec team doesnt sound so bad after all.

Local guys putting in volunteer hours, playing after work, and driving home from school to play for their hometown really should be the guys getting paid. No money with out them
