What if we started paying these pre Madonna by the point? Would some of these so called ‘pro’ players be interested in laying their nuts on the table and proving they’re worth the big dollars? After seeing watrous lose last night, it’s pretty apparent that hard work will beat talent when that talent doesn’t show up.

It’s fine if you have skills, but when you’re making money to play, you better show up each game and be good, steal Games, win games. The last few years of imports have been soft and entitled. Players like Beauker Twordick McCallum Dyck Reekie when they were in their prime were worth the money. They won provincial titles and league championships. Most of the imports in the league today are soft and play only for the money or clout of it. Who in the league is actually playing and acting worthy of $300+ a game? 300 a game is a entry level contract in this league, arent most the studs getting 6-700 a game?

That’s a good point. You should stop paying all the players wherever you’re located and you will surely end up with the beer league rec team you seem to desire to watch. And if you’re real lucky the local team will fold all together somebody can’t follow a point very well. The point is if you wanna make money playing hockey you should be playing pro. That’s what pro is for. Senior is for small towns, beers, and fun. Playing for your hometown, your friends, etc. it’s not supposed to be about getting rich. It’s great the high quality of senior hockey in this province. But it’s also sickening how there is 100’s of thousands of dollars being paid to guys across the province. And where does that money all come from? Local businesses, local fans, local families, etc. it shouldn’t have to cost a small town upwards of 25, 50, 100 thousand dollars a winter to be able to ice a competitive team.
