looking at the provincial winners in B,C & D this year, i don't think that any of them added more than 3 players to their rosters, so its not like a team had an unfair advantage? I know Wadena added a couple players, kenaston i think a couple as well. not sure about Kyle. Believe Kyle actually dropped a player.

Yes, Kyle dropped Doerkson.
Kenaston added 2, only Adrian played. I think he played 4 games out of 9.

Did anyone see the proposed changes in the email yesterday? Looks like only 3 player additions can be made in B, C, and D categories. If they are already playing on another team. What other proposed changes were in the email? to adopt the modified playoff format that minor hockey has used, where each team gets a home game and then if tied 1-1 a 10 minute mini game played to determine winner of series. I would not expect that to happen. and then ability to add 3 players to your roster that never played a higher level of hockey than U18AA, and not have it count against population totals, so you can pick up kids out of cities. that one is going ahead as well.

Will junior B considered a “higher level” then midget AA Yes. Any jr or aaa will not be allowed to fall under this rule

Don’t see anything there about adopting modified best-of-3.

Don’t see anything there about adopting modified best-of-3. The vast majority of team reps voted against the modified best of 3, so Hockey Sask didn't even consider it.

Don’t see anything there about adopting modified best-of-3. It was on the survey, that was just the email informing of the changes that were made i believe.

I find it interesting that it explicitly states that the AA exemptions have to be from one of the City’s. A player from a big town is still an import. For example a Nipawin player playing in Tisdale or Hudson Bay.

My thoughts are, these changes are giving towns close to the major cities a big advantage. Towns like central butte, Redvers, and many other small towns far from the cities already find it tough to find imports. Now we need to compete with towns like Kenaston, Milestone, lumsden to get city boys. Doesn’t really matter, Sask senior hockey is in trouble already. This fascinating with spending huge money on imports has gotten way out of hand. Time to switch my focus to pickle-ball.
