Dunno why everyone is so hyped up on the blizzard. They gave up 82 goals in 18 games this season Wadena, Wilkie, Carlyle, Macklin, Kyle, Redvers, Kenaston, Carnduff, Davidson. All these teams would have way less GA then #dablizz except maybe Carlyle but all their provincial pickups change their team completely. Any given night these teams would be a flip of a coin. Kenaston didn’t finish first in their league, And Dinsmore also beat them not even a week ago With such a strong squad why did they feel like they needed to pick up Adrian to sit another actual “local” I’d like to see no altering of rosters other than A. Then teams can brag about being the best with what they play with all year and by not throwing 2-3 different teams for 1-4 rounds Adrian hasn’t played since the Davidson series, Dalmeny has been busy with their own playoff run. Most teams add something for provincials. Injuries happen. Holidays and work stuff. Adding one guy is less than most teams. Redvers and Carlyle added numerous guys to their league teams for their provincial runs. Maybe people hype up the Blizzards because they hung two banners last year, losing six games in two years, two of those in OT. No one is saying the Blizzards are defensively elite. But they can score, and since the Langenburg disaster have given up 0,1,5,2 and 2 goals in playoff games.

Kenaston literally added the exact same thing. 2 skaters plus goalies from dalmeny roster.

The only guy they added that has played so far in provs is Adrian.

Then teams can brag about being the best with what they play with all year and by not throwing 2-3 different teams for 1-4 rounds Kenaston hasn't altered their team dramtically so your arguement holds no water. You also are trying to downplay Kyle who finished first in SVHL this season and are in the D final + Dinsmore who Kenaston are playing in SVHL semi-finals and won C last season...both communities have very good senior teams. Given the rules on rosters + population requirements regarding provincials...why would you like to see no altering of rosters in B, C and D?

Peterson hasn’t dressed. Likely an emergency goalie pickup. If Lewchuk gets hurt he would likely start. If he’s available.

You can’t compare apples to oranges either. Kenaston plays with the limited amount of imports on their regular season team and redvers does not. So if redvers brought in a couple guys to fill out those import spots for their provincial team good on them. Redvers is the most local team in senior hockey in the province and that’s not even up for argument.

It’s the most local team in the province??? That’s just baseless claim. Lots of teams in the SPHL and the Twin Rivers are basically all local.

I hope all these people that want change to the import rule filled out the survey sent out by Hockey Sask. The problem is, if you are forced to play A with any amount of imports, most wont enter knowing that the likes of teams from the Q and LL etc who pay good coin to have elite imports will smoke them because your team only has a couple just to ice a team. The import rules could possibly use some tweaking for the B,C,D divisions but even then, its tough to say. There are some great teams in all 4 categories that have good teams. I like the idea of rewarding teams that can bring in the same imports year after year and they become an exception. Build a team long term. Or maybe that is what is hurting the lack of teams in provincials. I dont know what the right answer is.

I got a feeling that this rink might not have an empty seat.
