well drake canucks the hockey team is ok unless its guilt by association....but the town or RM who issuing tax receipts allegedly for calcutta---that may be over the line...unless somehow drake canucks is registered as a charity or some kind of municipal org ??

We actually aren't seriously discussing this? For one, taxes are a sham, and if the accountants sign off on whatever is happening good, that is a good thing, more money in the hands of our local families, farmers, businesses... more money in our local towns is a great thing. Can't believe anyone would actually complain if any team was doing anything like that... give your heads a shake people, man does 2023 make me sad. I HOPE ALL teams are doing this with their sponsors... the way it should be. Two claps and a Rick Flair to all those teams!

I have been known from time to time to tell people "please don't take accounting or tax advise you have heard in the bar." I suppose now I will have to extend that to include senior hockey forums as well. Anyway, the point I am (probably not so well) trying to make is that I am sure that since the village of Drake has audit requirements and professional accountants to complete the reporting thereof, we should quite simply be saying wow good job raising that kind of money and perhaps even, hey maybe we should discuss something similar with our town or village's accountants.  |
