Hearing some heavy rumours that wadena has applied to the long lake hockey league and Kinistino & Hanley have both applied to the twin rivers hockey league, all 3 teams being accepted to their leagues from what I have heard. Any truth to this and what does that mean for the wheatland..??

After the league meeting (apparently is tonight?) someone could come on the forum and add some clarity to this situation. At least as far as where the Wheatland stands for the 2022/2023 season, as of April anyway.

At least as far as where the Wheatland stands for the 2022/2023 season, as of April anyway. Wheatland hasn't had a meeting yet. Kinistino and Hanley are off to the Twin River. No idea how Kinistino is gonna fit into the 3 elite rules pretty sure 13 out of 18 skaters played Jr A or higher. Wheatland has been great but I think it's been coming for a while, travel/towns just don't make sense since Imperial, Jansen and Allan left and even before that who the #### wants to go to Wadena.

Lots of changes to the wheat land that are confirmed one would only guess the league’s future doesn’t look promising to carry on.

Who wants to go to Craik and play in that rink. They would be better off to join the Sask Valley League if they want them.

Nothing against the town or the people but yes that rink is just to dangerous to be playing senior hockey in it. Maybe if they at least if they put 2 foot glass all the way around it to at least eliminate those pillar’s.

Not many surprises from the meeting last night: Wadena 1 year leave of absence - going to the long lake Hanley 1 year leave of absence - twin rivers Kinistino 1 year leave of absence - twin rivers Craik is applying to the SVHL and if accepted will also request a leave Jansen is planning to return Bruno was conditionally let in, but the constitution and import rules will need to change as they want to draw non-elite players from Humboldt. Tisdale, Porcupine, and Naicam are all planning to return to the league and no one had heard any serious mentions of a north east league - safe to say that rumour is dead, looks like the Wheatland will survive one more season as of right now.

[ There full of shit if they said they hadn’t heard of any serious mentions about the new league. They are waiting for the new league to be formed then see ya later wheatland. Of course they are not going to commit until everything is put in place lol. Some insider you are
