Why is it Saskatchewan has their senior playoffs the way they do? It seems a little backwards looking at it from the outside with provincial playoffs being played during the regular season outside of league play. Are the population bases in some areas so out of whack that you couldn't just have league champions advance and have a Senior AA and a Senior A playoff just involving league champions? Maybe combine some leagues and have a Sr AA and Sr. A divisions in each league or have the top half of the teams play for the Senior AA championship and the lower teams play for a Senior A championship. Or with 12 leagues have four three team groups of playoff champions for a round robin over one weekend with the final four having a two round semifinal and final to determine a single provincial champion.

I think the way other provinces do provincials is goofy.

Also each small town getting the money from large crowds in a deep provincial run helps fund a lot of things for a small community rink.
Not that it’s always been done that way is a excuse, but with so many leagues across such a wide distance it makes it enjoyable to have different teams from different leagues playing off in provincials.
For example the Manitoba way of having all league champions get together for 1 weekend is not a bad plan either, but with 12 leagues in Saskatchewan each with their own import rules it would not really work here.

I have friends that play in alberta than envy the sask way because everyone can enter. Gives the teams that arent willing to pay 1000-2000 a game to win league a chance at some good gates in provincials and keep the team playing. I think sasks model for senior provincials is awesome.

Moosomin must be a B town Moosomin's population puts them in C/D...depends on what other towns they pick players up from if they have to go into B

I can't say for 100 % but you could have foam lake kenaston in C/D category . Not sure who you think would be in B better than those teams .
