Well the two new teams are towns that have been part of the league for ever so was a no brainer. Milestone was mainly a team to the west making sure everyone had a reason to vote them out. I heard that the discussions that night seemed close to letting them in. Also heard tho the milestone GM or who ever was representing them made a scene in exit so the bridge might be also burned

Avonlea and Rouleau travel through milestone to get to yellow Grass. Location is not an issue here. Sounds like Avonlea sewered them cause they're worried about players leaving to play there. Milestone was in the midst of re shaping there team toward more young local players as there older players are hanging them up and are having a tough time competing in a much stronger QVHHL league. also heard there manager had a fit when he left but I don't think that should burn a bridge with the team/town. They've had a senior team there for a long time and would be a welcome asset to the league I believe. They just may need a different manager.

From what I've heard, there has been a rift with minor hockey associations that has trickled up to the senior ranks. Nothing to do with worry about players leaving.

I heard it was basically a you if you don’t want us lol And it was avonlea who was agaisnt them. Rouleau YG and radville didn’t have official vote on it as all in first year probation

Avonlea is just worried that another team would come in and be better than them without any imports.

I think it’s a matter when not if Milestone joins the NHL, if the rumours are true about Russell, that is just sad.

I would assume they didn't want Milestone in the league due to the strength of the team. It is basically the Regina Capitals Jr B retirement team. They would run the Notekeu going forward. Also, who want's a Flyers team with a Rangers logo in their league?

I do believe that’s what they tried to sell the league on. But it was track record of being a regularly top team in a much higher league and for how long the local thing would last for a town and team that’s used to bringing in guys and playing at a high level. For what’s it’s worth I think should have trusted them and let them in and with way QVHL is going or crumbling I think it’s sooner then later they get let in.

Fair enough, I doubt too many young guys from Regina are going to want to travel to Hodgeville (awful rink btw), Coronach, etc. It's a lot of miles every weekend. Even if it's mostly locals, Milestone is too far to be in this league IMO.

Milestone will be in this league sooner then later, weather Abbot likes it or not.

I don’t know what the issue is here. They would be playing under the same rules as every other team. Better watch what you wish for, when you start turning teams away for silly reasons. The teams in the Soo could easily branch off and make their own league they wanted too. I think the league has good momentum but don’t get too comfortable. Same could be said for Assiniboia having their Junior team as a feeder team and Yellow Grass having Weyburn. Milestones team is going to be a bottom feeder team in the Quappelle cause they lost all their top guys in anticipation of joining the Notekeu.
