Any surprises through the first weekend?
Beinfait and Carnduff split the first two - both going to overtime.
Carlyle and Moosomin both win the first two games. Carlyle vs Wawota had closer scores than one would expect.
And Redvers over Midale in three straight. Looks like Game 2 was closer than expected.

Impressive win by Oxbow last night and I understand that goaltender Cody Levesque also stoned Brock Trotter in overtime on a penalty shot. I was at the Carnduff game in Bienfait. Two zip Coalers about 10 minutes in and then Carnduff scored six unanswered to blow them out. Hilts had five goals and an assist in the 10-4 final. Saw something really funny with less than seven to go in a 9-4 blowout. Coaler #44 Carson Cayer started running around and was assessed a two minute interference penalty. In the box, he smashed his stick and broke off the blade. The timekeeper opened the door as he needed a new stick. The referee personally brought Cayer a new stick from the Coaler branch and from 15 feet away threw it at him in the penalty box for him to catch. As if to say, "#44, I should have grossed you or at least given you a 10!" He didn't. Cayer had two or three shifts after that and there were no issues. Carnduff looked good and played a lot bigger and stronger than Bienfait. Jackson Walliser had one of those forgettable nights.

Some of the dates are now set for the Big Six Best of Five semi-finals.
Game 1 - Carnduff at Redvers Tuesday February 27th 8:15 p.m. Game 2 - Redvers at Carnduff Thursday Feb 29th 8:00 p.m.
Game 1 - Moosomin at Carlyle Thursday Feb 29th 8:00 p.m. Game 2 - Carlyle at Moosomin Tuesday March 5th 8:00 p.m.
With three of those four teams still in Provincials, Saturdays and Sundays have to be left open and unfortunately some of the dates will overlap. Should be some dandy hockey being played down here in the Southeast.

Game on:
Cody Levesque had a couple strong games and Oxbow is you and quick. Add 4 high end imports and this team looks different.
Beckett is best gamer is big six hockey league to Steal a series or a game or championship. He must be in net for Rangers moving foreword as he is a defence man that can also move puck. X Factor No Becket in net Rangers are swept. Becket in net Rangers sweep series.
Simple but look at NHL tenders last cup.
Goaltending is biggest factor in any level winning playoff.
Goaltending is deal breaker teams that have average goaltending are done!
Carlyle playing games with illegal goalies is ridiculous. I know their goaltending is weak but should the AP be in net. Who’s farming who? SAHA. Maybe Becket can play for them in provincials run.
The series that gets my attention is Carnduff and Redvers. A rival but both strong hockey clubs. Redvers and Carnduff offence has hit their strive and I’m betting on team with best goaltending in series.
If picking a game to watch either will be great pending goal tenders performance!
My thoughts Redvers sweeps series over Carnduff. My thoughts Carlyle sweeps series over Moosomin. Carlyle sweeps series over Round Lake Bears as looked like rec game with defence and marginal goal tending.

Pretty big praise for Becket even after he couldn't get out of the first round of provincials with a stacked team. He was also in net when Moosomin lost to Midale. Pump the brakes pal.

The only stacked team for prov a is Carlyle and Bears in our league zone for A. Other big 6 teams are kicking ass and destroying teams which is nice to see. All good until hit north as usual lol.

Beckett has been sus in last half of season seen him scored on a dozen times jumping out of his net trying to play the puck. Sassy cats in 4. Red barns tried to buy a championship and failed
