With the Big 6's regular season coming to an end I believe playoff season has come for all teams in the Prov.
I want to point out that I will be considering Provincial results in the Top 10. That being said if a team has many pickup's I will look at it differently vs a league team playing another league team.
1. Wilkie Outlaws-The Outlaws are still rolling on their quest to double Banner this year. They still await their next opponent in league (will either be Biggar or Macklin) and they finished of Porcupine Plain in Provincials. If Biggar beats Hafford Friday they will play Wilkie in both League and Provincials.
2. Foam Lake Flyers-Foam Lake doesn't start their 2nd round series vs Wynyard until next week. This past weekend they did start their Provincial run with a 11-1 win vs Lucky Lake. They resume that series this weekend.
3. Lumsden Monarchs-On the Strength of their 5-4 win against Drake I am moving Lumsden up in the rankings. While Drake's regular season record was substandard compared to recent years they seem to be rolling now and are never an easy out. Lumsden also beat Balgonie 4-1 in the 1st game of their 2nd round playoff series.
4. Kenaston Blizzard-The Blizz are waiting for the winner of the Davidson vs Outlook game scheduled for tonight. They also started their Provincial series with Lanigan on the weekend and won 4-0. They resume that series this weekend with 2 games (if needed).
5. Wadena Wildcats-The Cats put on a display at both ends of the ice against the Jansen Jets this weekend winning by scores of 9-1 and 13-1. Most impressive were the shot on game totals it appeared the puck rarely came close to Wadena's net. They now play the winner of Watrous vs Leroy in Provincials and after Drake beat Watrous 2 straight they get Drake in playoffs.
6. Canora Cobras/Rocanville Tigers-I still have them tied due to Strength of opponents. The scores in their respective playoff games is in line with what I would have expected. Now, Canora plays Dinsmore next round in Provincials and this will likely go along way in separating these 2 teams.
7. Davidson Cyclones/Dinsmore Dynamos-Much like above neither team has separated itself from the other. Only with the above 2 teams I saw expected results with these two I saw unexpected results. Not taking anything away from Delisle or Outlook but with the depth of these 2 teams vs Delisle and Outlook they should win. But that's why they play the games and that is why it is interesting and we all love an underdog. Davidson did beat Bredenbury's Provincial team and now face Kyle in Provincial's
8. Paradise Hill Hawks/Lashburn Flyers-Again, like above, neither team has done anything to move up or down in the rankings. Paradise Hill beat Elk Point 9-3 and Lashburn beat Vermillion 12-3 in the 1st game of their respective series.
9. Redvers Rockets-Finished 1st in the regular season with wins over Carnduff and Wawota this weekend. Now play Midale in playoffs who ae coming off a big win vs Moosomin. Still another 10 days for the Rockets vs Warriors Provincial matchup.
10. Balcarres Broncs/Wynyard Monarchs-I'm not sure if either deserve a top 10 spot this week, based on the roster's alone they both should be, but the games aren't played on paper! Balcarres beat Southey in game 1 of their playoff series before losing to Wynyard 5-2 in Provincials. Wynyard plays Foam Lake in the LLHL semi finals which should be entertaining.
