Congrats to all the winners this year.
League MVP: Harrison put up numbers again (a few second assists and maybe a few post-game scoresheet adjustments ). I think others were more deserving this year: Matlock- would Biggar win more than 2 games this year without him? Kotchorek as well: Edam was a limping team who couldn't score consistently this year and without him making big saves, they are likely a sub .500 team.
First Team Allstar: maybe I'm missing something, but how does the Vezina winner not make first team All Star?
Can't really argue with the rest, except I'm sorry, as good as Boyer is, Keller is the best player in this league and only sometimes tries. He can play 5 games should still be a first ballot, 1st team allstar.
Top Goaltender: Deserved by Taryn. Close runner up Matlock. Staying on the goalie train, how good was Bryan Bridges this year in Unity.
Most Gentlemanly: finally Harrison doesn't win this award. Why he did for so long, no one understands. This isn't a hit on Harrison, but a gentleman doesn't let his hair grow past his ears. Congrats Boyer.- just plays the game and plays it well. Least Gentlemanly: The Kindersley Klippers entire team. Is there a team so universally hated?
Best Defensive Forward: Mackinnon is solid here. Worst Defensive Forward, Little Dziurzynski. The man plays 22 minutes a game and maybe only 3 min of those are on the D side of the redline. Notwithstanding the critique, the man is good at hockey.
Rookie of the Year: Who is Wyatt Versluis? Not a deep crop of rookies this year. Sorry Rookies, but be better.
Top Defenseman: Keller is a beauty on and off the ice. Hard to not enjoy watching that man float on the ice. Probably only needs to sharpen his skates once a year he's so silky. New guy from Kindo is pretty damn good too.
Coach of the Year: Not too sure Laturnus and Zarubiak coached Matlock into standing on his head every game. Better team record this year but not sure it was coaching: not to take anything away from L & Z. Trio of coaches in Unity increased their win percentage by 100%!!!
Let's hear your thoughts.
