Sorry, first time posting, I was trying to respond to the post about, it never being okay for a player to engage a fan. But in reference to players never touching a fan, at what point is considered okay for a fan to physically engage with a player, while that player is still in the field of his play, (ice surface, on their way to the dressing room etc.)? It seems to me some of these fans that night is Craik took liberties with the players and you honestly think that a response from the players is never warranted?

The fans physically engaged the players first? So the fan on the air horn engaged physically, then went to the horn, then got hit with a stick, or a different fan engaged. Not sure what your saying here exactly. But yes fans should never ever be involved on a physical level, and if it happened the Team and league should look into it. |

Sounds like you believe or may be accusing fan(s) of physically interacting with player(s) while they are on ice OR are leaving ice. This DID NOT begin in that fashion, so unfortunately Loreburn skaters began the off ice physicality. If fans physically assault players on ice or off ice, then reaction is warranted. And Vice Versa, in my opinion. However, zero tolerance should be present for players physically interacting with fans at all, UNLESs the players are defending themselves from a physical attack per above. NO fan is "fair game" for anything but a PHYSICAL attack. |

I appreciate your understanding, in the fact that it works both ways. Neither FAN or PLAYER should ever engage the other physically while on or when leaving the ice. It didn’t seem to me like that was your opinion initially. And that is why I questioned it.
I am not talking about how it began. I will give you, that shouldn’t have happened and it looks to me like that was dealt with swiftly with a lengthy suspension. But from where I was watching there were certainly fans taking a poke or two at players that were tangled up with Craik players along the boards, still on the ice at the end of the game.
So that isn’t cool either but it seems on this thread nobody wanted to mention that part.
Btw, as a fan of SVHL I would vote to keep Craik n the league.

Is there actually any hope of Craik having a team when Reich, Reich, Jones, Watkins retire completely??? They might have bodies but can they compete in the SVHL?

Well it seems to me they will need to do what every other team in the league does.. raise a bunch of money locally in the summer then give it to bunch of imports. Hopefully you get better than what you got now.

Why is this thread even a thing?. I haven’t heard of any real good reason as to why Craik should not be allowed to play in the league next year other than Loreburn doesn’t like the team , the rink and now apparently their fans. If Loreburn already wasn’t safelly in the league, it would be them the rest of the league would be talking about, and few years back it was Kyle. Bunch of whinny babies here on wicked deadly.

Voting Craik out is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. As was said about the PIMs and Suspensions in above posts. Also think of how the Valley (Our League!!) has benefited from the joining of not only Craik but also Davidson. Get a grip on your emotions guys!
