Carlyle wins 7-5. Gabrielle with 5 goals. Both teams missing 2/3 of their first lines. Great game and great crowd.

Yes, it was a good game but in fairness both teams were missing a lot of players. Moosomin - Sawchuk, Schwean, Trotter, and Lamontagne. Carlyle - Morrisseau, Froese, Luke, and Valdez Bear and a couple of others. Kovalenko injured early in this game and did not return. It is thought that Morrisseau, Bear, and Luke were partaking in a large hockey tournament in Brandon this weekend. Noted Sterling Bear and Tony Kinistino also did not dress for Midale against Bienfait last night. Period scores were 4-0 and 5-3 Carlyle. The Rangers poured it on in the final two periods and shots on goal, which are judged extremely accurately in this rink, ended up being 47-31 Moosomin. Gabrielle had his best game of the year with 5 goals and an assist. He has a wicked wrister and on at least three of these Levi Horn didn't have a hope. He played with Dakota Rose (5 assists) and Ben Johnstone (a goal and three helpers.) Bud had two goals and several other chances. Devon McGonigal got his legs in the second and third and ended up with a pair. Both Josh Elmes and Nathan Deck logged over 40 minutes each on the blue lines and were top D on this night. Estimated crowd 600/650. Pot of gold over $1800.00. Lots of out of town fans including many from Redvers. The Rockets no doubt want to finish first in the league and not play either Moosomin or Carlyle in the semis. (Although in my opinion Carnduff can also give anyone problems and they and Redvers have an extreme dislike for each other.) Moosomin has to lose one more for that to happen and the best chance of that is tonight in Oxbow against the Huskies.
