First off,
Let’s put the pitchforks down for five minutes because this is for a good cause.
We decide to try something in Raymore this year, honestly we’re just looking to put the most bums in seats…isn’t that the goal here.
So on Friday December 15th there will be a Teddy Bear Toss game between the Raymore Rockets and the Southey Marlins. I think this could be the first one in the history of senior hockey.
It’s been overwhelming honestly. The sponsorship that has come out of the woodwork. Business in town buying teddy bears. Michael Ball and the SportsCage coming out to broadcast live in location.
But non of that matters because what is most important is Hopes Home and the Hordos family from Raymore. This young family has had their young girl Grace cared for by Hopes Home for the last couple years and now it’s our turn to care for them.
So if you can, put down the pitch forks for five minutes, come out and support something real special.
We can all go back to hating on Saturday.

Whether all the cry babies agree on here or not, that really is the reason a lot of guys still do this whether they’re young or aging and still playing for the love of the game and more importantly BEER. Guys love seeing little kids high fiving and looking up to the “stars” in their hometown. I hope all goes well with the teddy bear toss (but Ballsy keeps his mouth shut)

Not the first one in senior hockey, Foam Lake has been doing it for a couple years now. But absolutely a great cause. Hope to see an awesome turnout!

just a question, i'm assuming Raymore doesn't have the netting around the playing surface then? I know there are some rinks that have it and some that do not.
good luck, hope the turnout is great!

Have some mutual connections with the Hordos family. Really good people. Hopefully lots of support from Raymore and surrounding towns. Good on the Rockets organization

How did it go over and how many years have they been doing it?
