Hockey Sask should try this for Provincials
Rules
Must be in bottom 3 of their league by Dec 10th
Must enter League Roster
no Pickups
no teams allowed from Qvhl Long Lake or Sask Valley
might not be the best hockey but it will be even hockey
i bet the likes of Rouleau,Kipling Wapella would have fun with this and enter

Provincials should be special...not everyone can win it and it is not a fit nor of high interest for 50% of the senior teams in Saskatchewan. And why would you prohibit a SVHL, QVHHL or LLHL team enter? If you wanted to give this any sort of credibility then you allow any team in any league to enter. But teams can smell a fraud and this Div III bracket is a fraud. |

Teams don’t want to enter if they know they will just lose first round, even in D there are very strong teams. A possible division could maybe use Twin river rules. Unlimited imports but only 3 to 5 “elites”, might encourage more teams to enter, rosters could be filled out with non elites from the cities making it easier for teams to put together a full roster. |

Make D only three imports or something and that would attract more teams.

This is a great idea^^ I definitely think you would have more teams enter. More imports but put a cap on “Elite”.

Yeah I think a format is needed that allows smaller towns and weaker teams to fill out their roster, Maybe even no elite cap but they have to be from town, then unlimited non elite imports. Something that allows teams to bring in players from multiple centres or cities as long as they are non elites. the biggest problem with lots of teams now is they have players from a dozen different towns and they can’t take all of their populations. |

Not a bad idea, would be best with just league roster in my opinion. That way some teams wont be paying out the ass just to win the DIV 3 provincial championship. 1 player can beat these teams easily…

A - unlimited imports + pickups
B - 3 imports + 2 non-imports, no limit on pickups
C - 3 imports + 2 non-imports, 3 player pickup limit
D - 0 imports + 0 non-imports, 3 player pickup limit
Keep the population rules the same as they are now.

Lower caliber leagues still have imports/elites. So u need to have 3.
