Any truth to the rumour of B having an extremely low number of entries? Like less than 5 low.

With Carlyle only allowed 3 pickups and thinking they need to be from the same town. Can’t see them competing in B. If the module they used last year they will need Togo A. Then they will end up playing Ochapowace or Moosimin. Thinking Bud will find more guys to make a run. Especially if money is not a problem in moosimin. Redvers will end up vs Kenaston hopefully not in round one. They will need to find a stud goalie to compete. Available stud goalies are not easy to find

Sounds like due to the lack of entires. There will be no senior B this year. Wilkie, Kindersley, and one other team were the only entires. Kindersley has to go A. Wilkie can go A or C and not sure about 3rd team. Must be lots of teams entering A.

Is this a result of hockey sasks new rules or are less and less teams becoming interested in provincials? they said they wanted to increase the number of teams entering, but then said teams could no longer add more then 3 non league players, they are so out of touch at Sask hockey about what is going on in senior it’s insane There is more teams that entered than last year. 45 this year compared to 41 last year. 18 in A, 3 in B, 24 in C/D. With the three teams im B entering other divisions there will be 19 in A and 26 in in C/D.

They could care less about it...their main concern is sustainability + a place to play for locals and the odd import that locals know. The usual suspects in SVHL, LLHL, SWHL, QVHHL and Big 6 will comprise the vast majority who enter. These leagues and teams within them have traditionally entered and place as much or even more than they would their own league. SHA in their "infinite" wisdom clearly believes tweaking a rule or two will have 15-20 more teams enter...when the rules they had re: imports and population would allow more teams to enter anyway.

HockeySask new rules killed the B bracket - only being able to add 3 players.
I think that rule is fine for C/D, but it shouldn't be applied to B, IMO.

No pick up restriction and maybe go to 5 imports instead of 3+2. Would allow more teams to enter B and maybe keep a few teams from being forced to go A. While they’re at it should make D be no pick ups, and hope that allows some teams that “provincials aren’t a priority for” the ability to enter a division that might be a lower caliber than C.
