Wasn't at the game, but FB updates showed scores of 2-1 Lanigan after one, 3-2 Lanigan after 2 and a 6-3 final score.

That is correct, Lanigan scored two empty net goals to put the nail in the coffin. First period shots were 20-10 for Lanigan. That was the only period Lanigan was better. Watrous dominated play at times but can't score. In opinion Watrous was too cute all night. They need some finishers.

Shiver me Timbers, what is going on with the 🏴☠️!? Close game with Foam Lake and now two big wins. Good to see we’ve got rid of the anchor on the ship and now we are sailing into the sunset. The pirates play has definitely given me a little more than just a hard wooden leg! Keep it up buoys!!

hawks had new d-man Hounsell--laid a couple big hits --but need more watching before can get a good read on him--hawks Mycan still on IR as well--but previous game version was correct--hawks tried to be too fancy around net---had a ton of chances also and pirates tender had a pretty good game

Watrous was missing their top player Lamotte Alot of talk on the Forum that Johnston is the best forward in the province and Lamotte is best on the team? What about the rest of the Winterhawk import forwards? |

Pirates had 13 skaters and their back up goalie. Does Watrous really need excuses to get beat by that?

Good to see the parity in the league as pirates were expected to be weak. On paper hawks should clean up but hard work triumphs High priced imports don’t seem to be the answer this year so far Wynyard for example . Some impressive resumes but not earning their $

Once Lanigan has a good base and they get the new DQ built in town they will be able to bring in some good imports. Players like SIM in Wadena and Forsbergs won’t be able to resist working at DQ and sneaking the odd blizzard or chicken finger basket.
