I heard it was in Hamilton on the 7th. But maybe that is league play? Anyway, yes it costs minimum $20,000 to go to the Allan Cup. Travel and hotels are just as costly as the $500 per game players.
The format used to be that you could AP just one other team in SK. But the powers that be changed it so they could have AP’s from anywhere to make SK more competitive. Realistically it worked as Rosetown was right there with the best in the country when they threw their team in. So it was a SK all star tram.

[quote author=" ankletape" source="/post/868/thread" It’s unfortunate but the wadenas, Kinistinos, foam lakes and kenestons of the province will eventually Kill senior hockey if it continues on the way it is. I’m not sure why you decided these four teams are culprits for ruining senior hockey? FL is a long way from a major city and need to pay guys some to compete or even have a team. They have great home town talent and play by their league’s rules. Kenaston is in a great spot being close to the Saskatoon and having all their local talent playing at home right now. The SVHL is perhaps the strongest league in the province from a stability standpoint and much of that is the strong teams like Kyle, Kenaston, Eston, Dinsmore that have good local talent. I don’t know what any of those four teams pays for players but if you think they’re the problem you’re out to lunch. I don’t disagree that the money being paid out is excessive. But they’re making it work somehow. Look at the teams in big centres folding up. That’s where your issues are. Senior hockey is alive and well in smaller communities. To expect a town like Kenaston to put a AAA team together is just ridiculous.

The rest are not from that area. They bought the team.
