I know there haven't been any teams to try to qualify for the Allan Cup but is there any word if there are any teams that might be trying to qualify for the Allan Cup?
The only teams across Canada that I've heard of are the Innisfail Eagles and the four teams in Allan Cup Hockey.

Have not heard of any Saskatchewan teams looking to make a run at AAA this year. With no hockey all last year I think funds may be tight for a lot of teams around the province.
What a fall from grace the Allan Cup has gone through from late 1970s till now.

What does everyone think the chances are that some centre puts together an ALL STAR team from across the province and all leagues?? Money being tight, say guys have to play for free, or everyone gets the same small stipend, think the team someone could build would be a good one?

I'm not very knowledgeable about the teams from other provinces, but do their AAA reps play as a team for the entire season? If so, is it realistic to think a Saskatchewan all-star team would be competitive?

I thought teams like the South East Prairie Thunder were pretty much well an all-star squad from around the area. A post I was reading from someone that appeared to be involved with the Dundas team made it sound like the teams were reimbursed for at least some of the expenses. But still a trip half way across the country under the circumstances over the past two seasons would seem a bit much for teams that have been shut down for about a year and a half with fund raising being difficult at best during that time.

Who would make the roster if there is a Sask Senior All Star Team?

Better question would be which towns close to Regina or Saskatoon would a team be based out of? Need to have a team already with some high end talent then just add to it.

I would suggest basing it out of Davidson. A nice big rink between Saskatoon and Regina

I think the in between Saskatoon and Regina is a good starting place, not a bad idea. Any town willing to support the idea though I would get behind. I am sure the players could drive together from their respective cities, the hockey world is a small one everyone knows everyone.

Don’t think sask hockey rules will allow an all star team. One team still has to be the Center. Then Allowed up to 10APs from other teams.

For around Regina maybe a team like Lumsden or Balcarres or Milestone could make a run with some additions. For Saskatoon area maybe a team like Drake or Wilkie or Kenaston could. If Manitoba has a AAA team this year, the Saskatchewan team would only have to win 1 series to go to Allan Cup. If no Manitoba teams this year, then Saskatchewan gets free run to the Allan Cup. That is if someone wanted it. But again with Covid last year, don’t know how deep some of the above mentioned teams pockets would be.

Kenaston has my vote, that team looks unreal this year. Add 10 APs to that roster and SASK has a good chance against MAN

It’s great to talk about but sure isn’t going to happen this year. The Allan Cup is tentatively scheduled to start January 7. The sign up date has already come and and gone and even if it hadn’t it would darn near be logistically impossible to make it happen. Not sure when they proposed to have the Manitoba/Sask playoff with those timelines?

The sign up date has already come and and gone and even if it hadn’t it would darn near be logistically impossible to make it happen. Not sure when they proposed to have the Manitoba/Sask playoff with those timelines? That's the start date for the Allan Cup Hockey league in Ontario. No date was set for the Allan Cup tournament.
The deadline for signup hasn't been cast in stone for years and with the pandemic I think they would be a little more lenient on deadlines.
I haven't seen anything mentioned on Manitoba at all this year. With the number of teams at Senior AAA this year a Saskatchewan team my get a spot in the Allan Cup as only five teams have declared that I have heard are the four ACH teams (two are hosting the tournament) and the Innisfail Eagles. One of the other two teams in ACH may not even play this year.
Some teams in recent years have only been put together for strictly for Allan Cup qualifying. I thought the South East Prairie Thunder from Manitoba were an offshoot of the Steinbach team with some other players from the area.
I've been amazed with the number of teams in Saskatchewan that they haven't had more teams in Senior AAA. With the way things are set up why couldn't they simply change the SHA rules and allow an all-star type team from various regions across the province. With the way the senior provincial playoffs are done in the province a two to four team playoff could possibly be done. Some of the teams over the years declared for qualifying since they knew they would automatically qualify for the Allan Cup.
