What’s going on in the Big 6 this year? Heard Redvers might be losing some guys? Carlyle and Moosomin with some big signings? All just rumours so let’s get some info from people who know what’s going on.

I second that. Redvers might lose a couple but will still be a wagon Carlyle & moosomin are very quiet. Carlyle brought in one player for sure already

Big Six annual league meeting is being held Monday night October 9th. FACT - Yellow Grass has joined the Notekeu League and won't be returning. RUMOUR - Arcola has taken a leave of absence and won't be fielding a team for 23/24. More to come later this week.

Big 6 could lose more then Arcola in the next few seasons. Kipling and Wawota I hear are on the verge of shut down, Bienfait has struggled to get players last couple seasons. Moosmin is known to league hop and can see them joining Sask East. Glad to see Yellow Grass gone the drive was to far for a lot of teams and not a fun rink to play in.
However......
This Could be a pretty small league in a couple years.

Wonder if Ochap/Round Lake will apply to get in? If you get down to a 5 or 6 team league that’s no good

That’s a lot of games versus the same teams. Games could get ugly real fast. If there is no parity will be lots of blow outs. Only be two rounds of playoffs. That would mean best of 7s. That would mean neighbours beating up on neighbours in the working mans league Then teams on the edges will look to bolt like Moosomin Just my thoughts

The Big Six Hockey League held their annual meeting October 9th with Yellow Grass opting to leave for the Notekeu League and Arcola requesting a leave of absence for 2023/24. The 18 game schedule is already up on the website. The regular season begins November 3rd and ends February 10th. Craig (Chopper) Barber from Carnduff is the new league President. Dean Horvath returns as statistician. Players and rumours abound as it is that time of the year. Will be interesting to see who is with who when the rosters are posted.

The leauge has had less and more in previous years it's normal. Arcola doesn't have the team to compete right now. Big 6 has been a leauge for almost 60 years it ain't going anywhere.

Hearing Moosomin has significantly improved their d, which was their biggest weakness last year. And got another stud up front to go along with Bud.
