Well, tomorrow night the Lanigan Pirates will be hosting the Charitable Father Son game.
The last few games have gone to the dads pretty easily, but maybe they will make this one interesting.
It’s been a hell of a year for Lanigan. Hopefully next season they can move on from the rebuild.
Losing out in playoffs to the league champions isn’t a bad thing either.

Could last nights game in Lanigan be the last for #22? People have been hard on him this season, especially on this forum, personally I think it went too far. Can’t deny a local players dedication and desire to play for that many years.
At the end of the day, if this is the captains last senior LLHL season, does Lanigan have an upcoming local that is willing to fill his shoes. A lot of recruiting and volunteer work, all senior teams have that guy, and I think they’re getting harder and harder to find.
If this was the end 22. Hell of a career!

Played nearly 2 decades. Wouldn’t be surprised if they hang his Jersey in the rafters. Congratulations on the career. There will Be a rec team excited to have him I’m sure. Hopefully the senior team isn’t in the ‘rec’ category again next season.

Congrats on a good career if it is his last season, wasn’t flashy but always hardworking and brought effort every night.

So that will affect the team, I’m sure a few locals will be going to join the jets

Jets can’t survive, will be another (1 year team) no commitment from the part time players. The older committed people that started the team aren’t going to be there. Was a good run, but some things come to an end.

There's probably only a handful of local guys who can legitimately play in the LLHL. They can play alot in Jansen and have fun in a less competitive league instead of sitting on the bench for Lanigan.

And that would mean good things for the Nokomis rink. The Jets really helped out the rink and got support from Nokomis

At the end of the day, I can say for myself and the rest of the Lanigan Pirates fans. #22 we wish you all the best in your retirement. Was a pleasure having you and watching you for the past decades. Numerous provincial championships, a few league championships. Rival battles vs Drake and Watrous.
They don’t make senior players like 22 anymore. We are truly saying goodbye to one of the originals in the league. Hopefully we can catch up in the upstairs lounge next season during a game.
Happy retirement.
