Half way through the season, what do the teams need to win in this league?
Watrous - Just not going to happen without any kind of second line or defensemen
Lanigan - still have Shields to keep them in the game but they are not beating anyone in crunch time
Davidson - High end skill, deep team. If they stay healthy they might win
Drake - Getting their players there. That's it. They could still win this league
Foam Lake - Goaltending and depth forwards are in need of upgrade, impossible to do in January. Unless Mayan scores 6 a game instead of 3 a game, they will be out.
Wynyard - Deep forwards with not necessarily the top end talent up front. Strong team defense. Hopefully Santa brings them a brain to stay out of the penalty box. As good as anyone in the league
Wadena - Health is on the wish list here. Hard to win games in this league without your top 3 forwards every night. If they get healthy they will be tough
Leroy - Same as Foam Lake, rely solely on 2-3 players to carry the mail. They will go as far as Leedahl takes them.

Watrous - a 2nd and 3rd line and a few pieces on the 4th. Five top 4 dmen. And hope Smith and Johnson don’t quit from losing 10-0 every game. If they get all of this, look out.
Lanigan - Dyck, Statchuk, Hobbins, Derkatch and reekie reunion
Davidson - Dieno finding out what the corner or a body check looks like and implementing his dad as coach.
Drake - A bigger chequebook. Roy signing was a hit on the financials. One Good fundraiser should allow them to bring in a few more guys.
Foam Lake - Russia invasion of Germany. They need some of these pro guys back.
Wynyard - Peloton bikes for everyone. Feasts Christmas time is always a concern for a few of their heavier “fit” guys.
Wadena - Time machine. You take five years off most of these guys and look out. Oh yeah a tutor shooter to replace their current goalie.
Leroy - Uptick in car sales. If they can get a new local finance manager and a few sales guys with some ECHL experience this team could be good.

Watrous - to actually ice a full lineup, and to magically find a 2nd line. I guess its good experience for the midget kids, but man... tough look. Will they be around next year? losing getting to the locals?
Lanigan - make sure Shields stays healthy, they have even less depth than Watrous but Shields is a brick wall. Heard Shields and Harmsworth are both gone next year... what will that mean for Lanigan
Davidson - a repeat of the first 5 weeks of the season, they are rolling and people are healthy.
Foam Lake - Depth, have a good first line but not great after that, makes you wonder if they'd just kept Reekie instead of chasing Toth where they'd be in the standings
Leroy - just pray that the money doesn't dry up... a first round playoff / provincial exit would likely end this reboot. Also rely on 3 guys, without them Leroy is nothing.
Wadena - getting their top players to actually be there, injury or whatever. Have heard this is the last ride for several guys...
Wynyard - keep it together, have a solid lineup, but def. easy to get off their game with penalties/suspensions
Drake - a goalie, betting Bartel uses more A535 than Nolan Ryan did. And how many more years does this team have? The day Cam Blair retires is the end of the drake canucks.. zero young blood coming.
hopefully some of these teams that are struggling can do a better job of bringing in guys, and surrounding them with some local talent or .......

If this is true about Harmworth and Shields, then Lanigan is in big trouble for the next few years. What has happened to the powerhaus from years back? Is there a toxic culture in the room, or why does no one want to play there!?

Is there a toxic culture in the room, or why does no one want to play there!? same thing that happened to Watrous and really Leroy for that matter, strong local talent retired and no one to take their place. The guys that were part of that powerhouse now have kids playing senior... And how do you recruit guys to a team that is getting shit pumped all the time.

Shields and harmsworth Gone after this season? That’s news to me. Pirates better do everything they can to keep them can toss water on this rumor. not true. not impossible as anything can happen over the summer to any team for that matter. But at this time this just isn't true.

Pirates should give Harms the ‘C and he can build a team in front of him and shields that is capable of winning games.
