been snooping around and holy shit are teams spending money in the LLHL this year. reminds me of the old Wild Goose League! #fireupthepumpjacks
how long do folks think this will actually be sustainable? if you don't have locals to support and fundraise, to pay these guys its gonna get ugly fast!

Agreed, some of the rumours I’ve heard are staggering and quite frankly ridiculous for senior hockey (if true, of course).

And I’d say there likely true… it’s a ing arms race paying guys 800 a game? . And how many of these towns have much going on for minor hockey? That’s your future senior players….

Last yr the league had its share of talent. The amount of money being spent and new players should make for some great hockey.

There sure is a lot of sponsors throwing out cash. $25 canola has sure helped the players make a little extra coin. Hard to fault the players (not that you are) but it does seem to be getting out of hand. But, that was said every decade since the 70’s and it’s still going up.

The quality of play is excellent to watch but man, the prices getting paid are out of line… this is senior hockey, not a damn semi pro league.

obviously he's a good player, but no one should be getting paid $800 a game in senior hockey... it's an effing joke

Soon this will trickle down and it will become the new normal unfortunately. I'm young enough yet to remember when $150-$200 and sticks was a pricey cost for top imports.

Considering the average pay in the east coast hockey league is $25,000.00/ year it is insane that some teams in the LLHL are paying what they are. With all this money under the table there are guys that will make more here than ECHL guys do after taxes!

might have a couple teams operate like the old minor league teams in the past and go belly up part way thru. with the cash leroy(allegedly lol) paying they could double their gate from 14 fans to 28 a game and be ok haha
