Is not 6 elite imports enough? The Big Six allows as many imports as you want they just can’t be elite. You can have as many Junior B,Junior C Midget double A,Midget Triples A as you want. I do not think you want the teams hovering around Weyburn and Estevan stocking up withRed Wings an Bruins and not entering A provincials and just playing league. I give the teams in the QVHL credit they all go in A provincials. Those teams also have a radius rule, however any population over 5,000 I believe is counted. There's not major centres like regina around the big 6. Carnduff can move guys in no problem for a job and stack a team but it's not ok for other teams to stack up if they want. Elite's now a days are going to go where the money is, they don't care about much else. Gabrielle in Wawota is an example Of that. Why are we so worried about where these guys play and more worried about teams being good. More elites allowed in the league the better the hockey will be. |

Funny cause when the Weyburn Devils did that they got tossed out of the league. Now it's ok for Carnduff to do something similar. Hypocrisy at its best. Let's be honest the league is one of the weakest in the province and throwing in a rule that hampers the amount of talent that can play in it. Also Gabrielle runs a hockey school out of Wawota does he not? So I'd say they are allowing him to "become part of the community" as well. |

Now it's ok for Carnduff to do something similar. Hypocrisy at its best. Let's be honest the league is one of the weakest in the province and throwing in a rule that hampers the amount of talent that can play in it. Also Gabrielle runs a hockey school out of Wawota does he not? So I'd say they are allowing him to "become part of the community" as well. You really think the Weyburn Devils putting together an Allan Cup team in a no import rule era is the same as Carnduff going out and getting a few guys while being within the import rules? What I'm saying is they got mad that they brought guys in, gave them jobs so they would come play, and then kicked them out because of it. I'm not saying Weyburn shoulda stayed in that league, those games were no fun for anyone. I'm just saying they booted a team for it, and now it's happening again and it's ok.
Import rules need changed, it's nice we have 11 teams now and all is great but the QVHL once had a plethora of teams and they ended up having to crossover with another league just to stay a float. These import rules are going to kill a lot of teams in this league if they have 3-5 years of 0 local players.

They were terrible for the league, Being hired to drive from moosejaw to run a hockey school does not make you part of the community. |
