Yeah I’m not sure what the correct call was there, I looked into the handbook a bit and it was quite vague for the gamesheet section. To fill ppl in, tkatch wasn’t listed on the game sheet when the puck was dropped, he started the game and happened to score the opening shift. When the refs were made aware he was not on the game sheet, they said because he started the game the sheet could be amended and the goal counts, but if he had not started the game he would’ve been ineligible to play. Back in my days as a ref you had to ensure each team had the same amount of skaters on the ice as on the game sheet, maybe these guys forgot to do that so this was how they made up for that?? Seems like a funny guy to forget on the game sheet tho. Need those stickers I have for my kids minor team

2.2b2 in Hockey Canada Rule book-
(b) Before the start of the game, the Official in charge of each team shall give the Referee
or Official Scorer a list of names and numbers of the players and goaltenders (to the
maximum of 19 — Junior A, Junior B, Senior (male and female) and U18 AAA is 20)
who shall be eligible to play in that game. No change in the list or addition to the list
shall be permitted after the commencement of the game except:
(1) Where a player is late and their name has been included on the Official Game
Report prior to the game, they will be permitted to participate;
(2) When a player has been inadvertently omitted from the Official Game Report,
the Referee shall permit the name to be added to the Game Report before the
game has ended; providing such player was in uniform and on the ice or on their
players’ bench at the start of the game.

Doubt they just forgot for one of there best players.

When you have worked around every rule possible to win a D championship what’s one more. You know well it’s been 10 years since they won last, had to throw the bank at it to win it again.

Edam is known for their physical play but they just tried taking it too far and they landed in the penalty box. You can’t run guys late anymore. They took that out of hockey many years ago.

Same thing they did against Debden but refs refused to call anything on them. Smith and Lamotte were basically assaulted all game.

I’m sure it was just a mistake leaving Tkatch off. He’s played every game for them, what purpose would it serve to not have him on the sheet? What rules are they breaking or “working around”? Sounds like jealousy to me. The good teams are always targets for hate. I’m sure someone would find something if they were actually doing something.

As If they did this on purpose thinking they could get away with it/it would benefit them in any way.

Kenaston has been caught in the past by SHA which makes then an easy target for accusations. I have no idea if this is legitimate complaint but I have heard some rumblings from people about Bembridge being considered a local. I have no idea if they are warranted or not though. Also heard something about Kenaston getting SHA involved with schedule because they were potentially missing a top guy or two and SHA ruled in their favor. Hopefully somebody with more knowledge than me can confirm or deny this.

Game is on as far as I know. Bembridge is a naturalized import. As for the scheduling, no idea. Edam did have 3 games scheduled with Macklin this past weekend and that changed. But provincials have to take precedence. Can’t play all your games on one weekend. Edam’s Turtleford guys were playing Friday and Saturday too. Both teams still in league playoffs. Scheduling is tough.

I find it hard to cheer for Kenaston this year. They are clearly spending a bunch to win, and I don’t think it’s beyond them to pull off a fast one. Edam seems to be a little to full of themselves once again this year, and they always have some whinny excuse on why they lost. Having said all that, I’m rooting for Edam tonight. Mostly cause they ballsed up and made tonight’s game on some god awful highways.

So what if Kenaston has gone out and spent money on bringing guys in. Good for them. I’ve looked at their roster and I can’t find anything wrong with it. Would be great to see a Kenaston / Craik final.

Would be great to see a Kenaston / Craik final. Back in the day teams didn’t spend money to win D provincials. That’s my biggest issue with teams like Kenaston. You wanna have big payrolls and go win A then I have no issue and it makes A exciting for fans. But it’s such a slap in the face for small towns trying to scrape a team together for D with locals not even playing senior anymore and then have to match up against teams with huge payrolls. Stop being cowards and go for the bigger divisions.
