Ok folks. I've been out for a while with the covid, but I'm back for what is the final week in some leagues and the first weekend of some leagues playoffs.
I haven't watched a game or looked at the standings in 2 weeks but from my gut this is what I think the top ten is.
1. Wadena 2. Drake 3. Kenaston 4. Milestone 5. Wilkie 6. Macklin 7. Foam Lake 8. Paradise Hill 9. Redverse 10. Carnduff
No honorable mentions. This is the top ten.

Paradise Hill 9. Redverse 10. Carnduff No honorable mentions. This is the top ten. 1) Drake (handled their business vs a good Balcarres team. They are gamers in playoffs. Bring on the Flyers!) 2) Wadena (made a good Theodore team look bad. Big, bruising, fast, and insanely talented. Outlook will have their hands full) 3) Kenaston (looking strong in round 1 of SVHL, but it was the Bruins.) 4) Wilkie (looking good in league, and took out the Delsile Bruins easily.) 5) Milestone (Keep on keeping on in the QVHHL, but lets see what happens vs Drake) 6) Hafford (hell of a comeback on the road to win their provincial series) 7) Davidson (moving on in Prov C, and beat a strong Redvers team to do it. Looking like a dark horse in LLHL) 8) Carnduff (finished off on an 11 game W streak in Big 6) 9) Grenfell (beat the Rocanville Tigers in game 1, could go a long ways in Prov B) 10) Macklin (first in the SWHL) HMs: Theodore (Undefeated in the Sask East. But hammered by Wadena and down main goalie) Meota (undefeated in the SPHL) Cabri (1st in WMHL) and Assiniboia (1st in NHL)

1) Drake - beat Balcarres who can arguably be compared to Milestone and Grenfell 2) Kenaston - as talented 2 lines of forwards as you’ll find anywhere 3) Milestone - Milestone/Grenfell/Balcarres all same calibre 4) Grenfell 5) Balcarres 6) Foam Lake - compete with Drake each night they play 7) Wilkie - still haven’t been beat in playoffs 8) Outlook - Shay fills out top line and makes them strong 9) Paradise Hill - kickin butt up north 10) Macklin - underestimated
HM: Assiniboia, Birch Hills, Meota, Kyle

League rankings* 1-Milestone 2-Kenaston 3-Balcarres 4-Drake 5-wilkie 6-Wadena 7-Outlook 8-Foam Lake 9-Kyle 10-Grenfell
Drake played balcarres with their provincial team and only squeaked by balcarres league team minus their starting goalie and Jared Martin.
Kenaston has their post Christmas lull and are back
Outlook on the rise
Kyle is Kyle, always there when it counts

I do enjoy following the top 10, but wonder how the differences between league rosters and provincial rosters play into it. Some teams stand pat, but others pick up. How does this play in the rankings?

How does this play in the rankings? I am sticking with league rosters only Then how come you mentioned Drake beating Balcarres in your Drake comment? Russel Goodman scored 2 and Durand 1 in a 4-3 win for Drake. It’s too hard to lump it all together because treams change considerably. Some teams in A have 8 pick ups and conversely Davidson had to drop 4.

Definitely commented wrong when I said I’m using league rosters only. I’d rather try to account for provincial changes to league rosters. Top 10 would be boring otherwise. I knew Drake picked up a couple for provincials. I took that into account. Nothing says if Goodman and Durand weren’t there that the other Drake forwards wouldn’t have gotten more ice time and scored those goals. On the other hand there is no doubt adding two more studs gives you an advantage. Everyone is going to have an opinion on how big that advantage was. Both games were close but imo that doesn’t tell me that if Drake didn’t have Goodman and Durand that Balcarres would have won. If we don’t use any of the provincial action to compare teams if they add one or two players I can go that direction too - I’ll only move my teams based on their league playoff results. I’d rather handicap teams based on some provincial play while accounting for team changes and my opinion of their advantage in provincials.

But if Wadena (who actually had to drop from their league team) gets by Outlook/Rosetown and beats Grenfell what are you gonna do? Ha Outlook has a pretty stacked top end of the roster. Like 5 guys that played in the AHL or higher. Add the Rosetown guys and that potential series would be a wicked one.

The Outlook team is such a diversion from their league team it’s too hard to compare how the Outlook league team would have done against Wadena. I’ll give Wadena credit - they did better against Theodore than I thought they would(not over yet but pretty likely). Definitely changed my opinion on them - moved them into being able to compete with the middle of the SVHL(Eston/Outlook/Loreburn/Dinsmore/Central Butte)
