Anyone know what rink Meota plays in? What about Kinderlsey? Just wondering if anyone currently plays in an SJ barn. Kindo has twin rinks, they play the majority of their games in the co-op arena which has really nice rooms, benches are stupid tho. When I was playing they always seemed to have Ice issues as well, lots of delays. I'm not sure how it is for spectators but it seemed legit since they had mezzanine and served beers which made the atmosphere better. I always liked the WCEC better as far playing, that's their Junior A barn, but it was hard to create a good atmosphere obviously due to the large capacity, that being said its nothing special. I much prefer smaller barns that have fans on the player side of the ice like Biggar (biased), Rosetown (but those ing benches) and even Wilkie. They all have flaws but they're great barns for senior hockey

I played there once a few years ago in provs. From what I remember nothing overly special but for senior hockey it was near perfect.

Macklin has a really nice barn, I wasn't shitting on it. I just prefer the rinks where the fans are all around vs on one side of the rink, I just didn't feel the atmosphere there as much, that's all. The rink itself is great

Not that they're the nicest or worst but in terms of playing I always liked Rosetowns barn.
I hated playing in Kenaston or Butte when they had the old yellow lights. Do any rinks still have these?
Also never liked playing in Leader either

Kenaston is still an ice box but I think lighting has improved. lighting is everything in a barn one hundred percent.

Speaking of the SV Loreburn's barn was pretty bad. 20 below outside and 40 below inside.
Rosetown's rink is really nice, best in SV.
Then you have Delisle and Kyle. Nothing super special but still very nice rinks.
Butte and Kenaston are small, so not great, but I think Loreburn takes the cake as worst SV barn

Loreburn built new dressing rooms so I would rather play there nowadays any day over Butte. Buttes ice was always horrible too. I always liked Outlooks rink, felt big compared to some of the smaller rinks. Also like Eston.

Loreburn upgraded their lighting too in recent years if I'm not mistaken. And those dressing rooms are a great addition. There actually wasn't a bad rink in the svhl even back when Elrose, Beechy, Dodsland and Conquest were in the league. Some had their quirks but nothing outrageous.

Conquest slush bowls were sometimes hilarious but the facility itself was pretty good. And the burgers were dynamite.

Hands down worst rink is Cutknife (although I don't think they have sr hockey there any more). Boards at at an angle - funny someone hasn't fractured their spine there. Also extremely cold and I think the health dept. should shut down the booth!! Lots of great rinks all over the province, especially some of the older ones with lots of character.
