I been loking at the big six rosters the Carlyle cougars certainly have the most fire power and Mayb the best goal tending but there defence is going to b a problem if they don’t add a couple D men. Moosomin Has lots of fire power but that team is not going to gel too many heroes And not good enough goal tending. Redvers got fire power also Again they don’t have the goaltending the top three teams for sure. Carlyle number one Redvers number two Moosomin number three. That’s the way it will end up All this talk about the cougars every year, it’s almost repetitive at this point. Outcome doesn’t change, they finish top 3 and don’t make it past the second round. Team is still full of all the same selfish players and may have one of the most toxic rooms and benches in the game, I have never seen a team that yells and fights with each other on the bench so often. Yes they added a goaltending, but I wouldn’t say bringing in a guy who played senior hockey over seas is an upgrade. They have a guy who is never around attempting to run this team from down south who personally believes he is running a pro hockey team and the coach can barely run a car dealership let alone a bench. Dressing room explodes halfway through the season and this team doesn’t make it past the second round in playoffs or provincials. There ya go, right from the title sponsor 😂 |

I don’t care what any of you idiots say Carlyle cougars are one of the best run hockey clubs there is that idiot that posted that other crap is just jealous I’ve been involved in thevcougar operation for many years and that is all absolute crap that he is saying They always play by the rules and they don’t try and pull any crap like all those teams in the Quappele hockey league are pulling off And you can include the moosomin Rangers in that same category They will do anything to win and if they’re not winning they’ll jump into another league that isn’t as strong so they can win there that’s what they’re noted for

Not the case Carlyle’s team blew up internally and this can happen in hockey. Look at Winnipeg Jets.
The tops teams in big 6 should do well and let’s not compare other leagues as other leagues have no import rule.
Be proud that we can ice this many teams in the region!
At one time Redvers iced 2 senior teams!
Redvers No 1 in Big 6 and it will be that way until playoffs!

Carlyle won 5 -1 they lok good very well rounded team 4 good lines well played game.

As mentioned, 5-1 final but it was a game that was closer than the score indicated. Shots on goal ended up even at around 42-42. Curtis Meger outgoaltended Cody Levesque and looked really solid between the pipes. The Huskies will be fine and were missing two of their best, Alex Von Sprecken and Jayden Davis. Import pickup Randen Schmidt looked great on the Cougar blue line. Cougars took a lot of questionable penalties in this one and got away with them. Carlyle rolled with four full lines in this game and I am sure the forwards aren't excited with this. If they fall behind against the powerful first place Redvers Rockets next Friday, Coach Pierson will have a lot of decisions to make. Pot of gold a nice $895. won by a Carlyle local. Good crowd estimated at 350 or so. A great start to the season.

So word around the rink last night was Niven is actually living in wawota here and not at the lake like they are claiming that makes 5 imports some teams need to make a complaint

Carlyle cant and wont play 4 lines against moosomin and Redvers they can ice 3 very good lines and play with any team great goal tending to go with high scoring forwards still a little weak on D but the new addition was a big boost bendsen will b a good D man might take few more games but he will b solid back there. It’s going to b a battle this yr for the top
4 spots and yes Oxbow Is quite capable of up setting the rockets cougars or moosomin for sure
