Does anyone know if Rosetown got accepted into the Cross Roads? Heard they applied. If they did, that must be some sort of record with how many different leagues they’ve been in the last 10 years.

Sounds like Eationa and Rosetown have been accepted into the cross roads hockey league. Leader was a big no. 6 team league for now.

The CRHL and PMHL could be big trend setters. Wouldn't be surprised to see another local boys league pop up outside of Saskatoon as well

The President of the league is from Eationa. I’m pretty sure they were expected into the league. There was email sent out to the teams that Eationa and Rosetown were in. Unless something has changed since then.

Unless something has changed since then. Eatonia submitted a roster with 2 players from Medicine Hat which is against the league rules of local only. Was told can join but not with them and they said they will stay in WM. Allegedly of course.

Don’t know much about this league but from the sounds of it they are being pretty picky on who can play in their league when it comes to players of “import” status. Let the boys play.

Won’t they have to allow a few imports to the non-Kindersley teams at some point? Not sure how they’ll maintain the numbers required, long-term, in Kerrobert, Luseland, & Dodsland without an allowance for extra bodies. And new teams will struggle to join the league as well (Eatonia, Eston, Elrose?) without that same buffer. Kindersley & Rosetown are obviously in a different spot, given the size of their communities. I believe the point of this league is to stay away from imports to avoid turning into another SW/SV. Kerrobert, Kindersley, dodsland and rosetown all have rosters of 20+ Locals. Eatonia has a roster of 20+ Locals without having those 2 guys, so hard to justify. Maybe in the future rules will have to loosen but as of now seems to be working for the league. Fun to watch regardless.

Does it matter how many locals have played Jr or higher calibre hockey?

Does it matter how many locals have played Jr or higher calibre hockey? Currently there are no Elite player restrictions. I would have to imagine that at some point they will have to cap it I.E if kindersly locals decide to play Kodiaks rather than Sr. Klippers.
