So Grenfell tender is Levesque from Oxbow. How does that work? Emergency basis? Seems odd he was playing for oxbow last weekend in provincials and now is with grenfell.

Sounds like stripes gave moosomin every opportunity to crawl back in? Or were most of the calls warranted

Quick recap of tonight's game. 6:00 p.m. start and I got there at 5:30 p.m. They were already out of programs. Why? Big Levesque of Oxbow in net. Kilgore was injured in the Friday night warmup and still played the entire game two. Their backup had a groin pull. McGonigal scores a soft wrister from 30 feet out early in and 1-0 Rangers. Then #15 Kilback, three in a row. Spitfires added one with 2 seconds left and it was 4-1 after one.
Halfway thru the game, Fowlie scores on a giveaway. Buddy on the power play made it 5-2 and then a fluky up in the air goal that Levesque couldn't catch and it was 5-3 after two. Sawchuk scored with 20 seconds to go making the final 5-4.
Observations: Grenfell by far the better team. Beckett started and was shaky until late in the second. Kilback and Fowlie easily the best players on the ice. Levesque allowed 3 goals on only 8 shots in the first two periods but settled down in the third and was much busier. Beckett ended the game strong but too late. Referees Klassen and Edwards(both Big Sixers) struggled all night and must have dished out 6 interference penalties. Grenfell got charged with a couple of tacky tack calls in the third to make things interesting. Timekeepers had a heck of a time and goofed up the clock on nearly every double or matching penalty. Beckett stoned Kilback on two separate breakaways. Buddy only one point I believe. Moosomin defensemen were outplayed and outskilled in the corners. The better team won. Carlyle is going to have a tough time against this team.
Estimated crowd 700, pot of gold $1,790.00 won by Mark Holloway.
