sha meeting tonight on senior hockey. guessing they will try again in january. I would be surprised if it starts back up if they do pause it. Unfortunate, but for hockey this season the best plan would be to soldier on. Not saying that is best for lowering virus cases though. |

It’s not like anyone is forcing them to play, if they don’t want to play that’s fine, and understandable, but I’m sure there are teams who do want to play and there season shouldn’t be ruined just because of one team wants to quit |

Any word from the meeting I heard that they will announce something next week. Not sure if anyone who participated in the meeting got a feel for what will go down but they just reiterated the rules and why they are in place for what I saw. |

Wow, quite a lot of comments on here.
1st - not one player in the hawks roster wants to pack up and shutdown the season. They all want to play it out. And the executive has full confidence in the team to do very well.
2nd - fans, was at both games last weekend, not a chance drake had 100 people in the rink, and in watrous just over 100 fans. Any team in the LLHL will lose money this year. Every team has a good size payroll... that’s how this league works. And the opportunity to make it back in playoffs and provincials most likely won’t be there because of the crowd restrictions.
:rd - locals... it’s tough to lose locals for any team but you can’t begrudge anyone that feels unsafe due to covid for putting health and family first. For the record definitely not 4th line plugs either.... all good players.
Hopefully with the restrictions in place we can get covid under control, get rinks opened back up to more fans and have it feel safe for them to come out. Then get a full season with playoffs and provincials. Pipe dream? Maybe... but we will see
