I’m sorry I offended you guys, I do understand the locals are a big part of keeping a team alive. But this is the llhl, u should at least be better then Rec calibre to be in this league . I’ve supported this team for 35 years. This organization is going down hill so fast. Changes need to be made.

👀👀🍿🍿 now this is interesting lol. I haven’t been to a game yet so I can’t really comment, but these two teams were favoured to be bottom two in the league. The once mighty pirates becoming the laughing stock of the league?

I just find it hard to believe that two towns of that size and were power houses for years have 0 local up and coming talent. Not even a Jr B player or two... Are kids just not playing hockey anymore or whats the problem?

I think Watrous has some coming but are still playing junior B. Covid really got Watrous bad, several guys retired that are decent players that should still be playing.
Lanigan seems to have lost the “huskies” connection that they had for so long.
Monday nooner fellas gave the LLHL that title, and based on the rosters of the top 4-5 teams it’s accurate.
And does this win end the longest losing streak ever in the LLHL?!

I just find it hard to believe that two towns of that size and were power houses for years have 0 local up and coming talent. Not even a Jr B player or two... Are kids just not playing hockey anymore or whats the problem? To be competitive a team needs locals that played jr A. A couple junior b kids helps but isn't going to win the league. If you get the guys who played some good jr hockey they help get your imports as well. For watrous, drake, wynyard, and lanigan its also a bit harder to get the other "locals". They're all fighting over the same guys in that 120km range. The teams on the outside edges of the league have to travel more but they also get access to "local" players that other teams can't. It all goes in cycles. Lanigan and Watrous will be good again eventually and it'll be points night in drake or wadena. |

I agree,cheeseburger why dont u help coach the pirates since u seem to know everything.I have been a pirate fan for a long time too but would never beak them.give them time.like i said its only the 2nd game & they were also missing a few key guys last night.give them 5 more games or so with a full lineup & u might see a different team

All I was saying was I’m disappointed in the direction the pirates are going, they have gone no where in years and it’s going to be a few more years till their relevant to win more then 7 games.. decision making from management has been atrocious for a few years now. |

I would bet a new set of zamboni blades that every team in this league is paying close to 1500 a game, and there are some over 2K a game. The problem with just running locals is if you don't have the Jr a locals at least to help your gonna get waxed (case in point watrous last year) and young guys will get tired of getting pumped and quit... |
