All these teams go through cycles and spending money in a down time so that your team is at least somewhat competitive is the only way to keep the program alive until the next up cycle.
Haven’t been able to make a game this year in this league due to work. Checked the box scores & Lanigan went 0-3 against Davidson, 0-3 against FL, and 1-2 or 1-3 against Drake, (the teams with winning records in this league) while being outscored double by Drake on the score clock. I am not sure this warrants a “they have proven” they can win. 3 against Watrous, 2 Against Wynyard & 1 against Drake without Stumbourg. Playoffs are a different animal & I think they make the final in A provincials based off box scores, but without Shields they may be in the same category as Watrous this year.
Dumb comment. The team is judged as a whole, including Shields. Take the best player off every team and they are much worse.
